I have been to Status once in search of Illuminated Door Sills, but the quote was extremely high(Rs2.4k), maybe it was of superior quality but i found the same sills at Rs.1.1k at Bombay Motors(Lenin Sarani).
Even for the solar powered flowers which can be had for 50 bucks in Kankurgachi, they were quoting Rs.130. However, the store has lots of stock including high quality sunfilms, but still even the shop next to it (Rainbow Auto) had a much fairer pricing. Maybe next time i'll take your reference.
Mi2n I guess your taking into consideration the wrong shop. The status which is near Ruby Hospital,Rainbow Auto is not used by me.I use the one in Kakurgachi, opp Pantaloons. The owners and work ethics of the both are completely different.

Now, may be they have authorised dealer. Please check their website or else call 3M head office.

Finally, I settled for LLumar, as VKool was out of my budget. I got it installed from Glix in Salt lake.

Installation was done by Llumar technicians and the work was carried out neatly. I have Llumar AIR75 on front and back windshield and PP50 for sides.
I did check their web site a few days back but there was no KOLKATA in their list. So how is the Llumar doing. Is it serving you well??

Yes, Llumar sun film is good until now. I have a small scratch in the passenger side front window. It was due to my daughter putting the keys on the window while moving up the window. Front windshield visibility also OK at night. Overall I am happy.

Just make sure that during installation, you should have dust free enviornment as far as possible. They normally install by closing all the windows of the car (installation from inside).

Glix shop (in Salt Lake) also has relatively less dust around it. Infact, later on , I thought, it would have been better, if they had installed the sun film inside the showroom, where they keep some cars for display.

You can see the details of the installtion on my ownership thread in post #35

FIRST SCRATCH HURTS

My i20 got its first scratch No, I am not the culprit. It is our watchman who has the duty to idhar udhar the car in the morning when others cars have to go out and my car comes in the way. He never told me about the scratch. I was wondering for the last three days. The mystery of the unknown scratch got solved today, and How? The pics will tell.

Here is the ..well not a scratch actually. the paint has been completely peeled off.

You can see the paint has come off.

First let me explain to you my car park. THis is the passage from where one has to enter. It is quite a wide one. And dont forget to notice the green SANTRO that belongs to a friend.

THis is the Santro.

The passage ends here and I take a left. Notice the Santro.

So not sure how this happened and then I see this on the Santro. This is the exact place where my car could have come in contact while taking the left. The space is tight here. One has to age piche the car a couple of times to take the left. Our watchman wanted to show how Michael Schumacher he is and tried to do it at once. And this is how it happened. :(

The white paint was much more prominent yesterday. I think he rubbed it off.

To conclude here is a pic of my i-catcher. I am in LOVE

P.S: It is that red Wagon R that goes out in the morning because of which my car has to be taken out. And since I dont stay at home in the morning my mom has to give the keys to the watchman.

Re: The i-catcher is here and it uber cools too: 2011 Hyundai i20 Asta

So today I calculated the FE. My car has done 550 KMs. Previously I had roughly calculated the FE but this time I think its more accurate. I coulnt do a Tank Full because daddy believes if he does a tank full I will drain everything within 2 days. . So I thought of doing a Reserve to Reserve. Guys!! Am I missing something or is it possible to calculate FE by this method.
This is what I did or rather how I did.

377 Kms== The car's reserve indicator shows up.

Fill up 12.95 Litres.

524 Kms== The car's reserve indicator shows up again.

So the differential Kms run ==147Km
Litres of Petrol ==12.95

So FE=11.35Km/L

So whats your take on this??

Pretty decent FE if you are driving completely in city with AC on

Re: The i-catcher is here and it uber cools too: 2011 Hyundai i20 Asta

Guys I have a query here. Today when I switched off my car and took the keys out and then opened the door to get out the Seat Belt Alarm went off. May be it was for something else (and not the seat belt). Has anyone else faced this issue. Is it some kind of a reminder?? The only thing is that I had forgotten to switch off the wiper. It was in the Inter moder when I switched off the ignition. But then again I tried the same thing later but the alarm did not go off. So what is it about? Any idea?

The most accurate way of getting FE is the tankful to tankful method by getting the car filled up at the same petrol pump. Im sure your car is capable of giving more FE, it is bound to improve after the first 2 services. You can then expect the same Fe with 100% AC on in city. Oh ya BTW do give that moron watchman of yours a sound piece of mind.

THanks a lot ZC.

Today I got the HSRP from RTO. We had been given a form from the showroom and we had to submit the form in RTO(Beltola). Ahh!!! The only name that I can give to this place is HELL!!! I had submitted the form on the 7th of this month and they gave todays(13th) date. Well that is not the hell part. The hell part is the "DALAL" part. The number of dalals there are astonishing. THey wont let you move an inch. Anyways, the good thing is the job was done. I had a few pics taken.

Hey Pancham - so they have started out giving the HSNPs from RTOs? Any news whether they are going to give it for older cars? Also - is it only being given out from Beltola?

According to the dealer it is only the RTO who can issue the plates.

According to the dallal: Older cars cannot have it. But I dont trust them. Then again why should they lie. It will be there loss since I wanted to get another one for my friend's CIVIC.

My car got registered from Beltola so I got the plates from there. I think all the RTOs are issuing their respective plates.
