So now thankfully this nervousness has gone, and i am back to enjoying the pleasures of driving once more.

My wife just asked me- we are so worried and plagued with fear of another mishap just after a rear ending. Imagine my mortal fear-she had a lot of psychological locks-now slowly overcoming.

A traumatic happening always unsettles us- it knocks us off the present orbit and defines another orbit for us. To overcome the gravitational pull and re-align oneself with the previous orbit needs deliberate effort from us-many of us don't put this effort, hence no results.

Glad that you overcame it. Me,too-almost.Thanks for the wishes.

For back problems-her doctor is suggesting an Automatic Innova-which is non-existent. He himself is not happy with his Mercedes for this purpose. The key factors are the height of the seats, low speed ride coupled with the jerk during the gear shift. Here City AT fares pretty well-seat height too is not very less, even though not in Innova league.

@arvi86, I am marking your earnest and loving words,Mate-Rather etching them on.Thank you very much.

I am glad that you are slowly overcoming the fact.
An AT innova!?! only after it's facelift doctor saab.
Did he really write that in his prescription!?!
I think the ANHC is pretty perfect for your wife's needs.
as you mentioned the seat is at a decent height.
and the butter smooth jerk free nature of the AT box is the icing on the cake.

Re: Does anyone buy a Honda City anymore?! Oops! I did-and fell in love with it!!

Charthom buddy, nice vacation there!

I'm sure it must've stopped your heartbeat for quite some time when you were rear-ended; because of concern for your lady's back and for the car's back. Glad neither suffered damage.

Generally, the bumper has a good capability to bounce back to original shape in case of minor rear-endings.

The car looks stunning as usual! How about some interior pics too?

About MMI's inaccuracies, you'll be surprised how often you'll find yourself driving in no man's land! Guess they don't update their maps as often the municipal corporation maintains them!

Take care y'all!

mdsaab's techniques-check out pages 12,16 and 18 of his thread.
Hey Thanks for the lead on FE mate. I also went to the 3D Kagu section on P33 and found Beige color apt for ANHC. However, other queries started hitting my mind now:

1) Are the 3D Kagu mats made of rubber?
2) I currently have Biege rubber mats that came free as part of Honda accessories which is giving me good grip. How better are the 3D Kagu compared to the beige rubber mats that I currently have?

Few Qs about the CASKA HU

Is there a way to power off the HU without having to turn the engine off? I could not find the power On/Off button anywhere in the unit.

My wife is more accurate with the routes than any average GPS. So no big worries. Only driving solo is the time of concern for me. I am pretty uncertain-almost a dummy..sigh..

They are made of Kagu- a patented material.

"All mat that glitters is not 3D"-as the proverb goes!! They are like trays-hence could be better in containing dirt. But actually it is knowing(and people knowing) that you have 3D mats in your car that is worth the buy.

Very interesting question!! Just keep the volume adjust button pressed- the unit will turn itself off. It had left me confused-my wife figured it out from the experience from a previous Pioneer HU in another car.Women are always smarter-let us try designing more complicated machines to try to beat them!!..

BTw,Kiran please see the positioning of GPS camera in my UT Beautie. It is placed ahead of the sun visor above the front passenger seat. Altaaf too has a similar set up like yours-he is getting it changed.

RemingtonSteele and other friends,

Here are the photos of the rear bumper and boot lid after the job. Total expenses-Rs.7760. I had to pay 500/- for the insurance claim fee.

I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your support and concern. Thanks Mates, really geart buddies you all are!!

Thanks a lot for providing all the inputs mate.

I am in for the 3D Kagu now
Feeling great sigh of relief after knowing that the HU indeed has got its own ways of being powered off/on and I truly agree with you on women being smarter with machines.

On the GPS device, thats a cool place to fit in. I will also get it changed when I leave my ANHC for 3rd free service in 10 days from now. Another 230KMS odd left to hit the 5K mark in 6 Months.

Once again thanks for all your help dude.

Cheers, Kiran

Hi Charthom,
Came back here after some time...

1. Great snaps those - especially the ones at the resort and full of water ! Delightful really.

2. Sorry to read about the mishap. And extremely frustrating when it is all thanks to no fault of yours.

3. That bumper dedenting and repainting costed you more than 7 K ? Bit steep eh ?!! Of course thanks to insurance you paid only 0.5K. But then next year you loose the NCB. Is that right ?
Good luck !

Re: Does anyone buy a Honda City anymore?! Oops! I did-and fell in love with it!!

Charthom,

One more point I wanted to mention about CASKA HU is, that I feel I am not getting the same audio quality in it compared to the default unit I had earlier. I somehow feel that the zing is missing in CASKA or is there some setting that I am missing? Not sure. Wanted to know whether you also have faced similar experience in the audio quality after you got your CASKA. The dealer while installing mentioned that CASKA would enhance the quality of audio compared to the default one but I don't seem to be getting anywhere near to it. Would you be able to throw some light on this? I mean if I need to switch the EQ setting to custom and if so what should be the ideal setting of Bass, Treble and other stuff to get the same effect that I used to in my default system.

Thanks, Kiran

Suddenly I felt a shock and a loud thud. Someone had rear ended us violently! On an almost empty road!! I rushed out and found a lady of about 53 years and her scooter lying on the floor- on an empty road where one had all the space and time for manoeuvring, she rode almost 40 metres straight and hit me sqarely in the middle of the bumper, missing the rear view camera only by about 3 inches!!
Hi Charthom,

I was bit busy for last couple of days due to a construction work going at out home so was not able to read the thread completely.

Anyways first of all I am very happy that you got some good mileage figures and I am sure these will improve as the car covers more and more KMs.

It is always disheartening to see even a single scratch on our car. Very sad that it happened with you but thank god it was a minor one. But good to see you got her in shape quickly. Take care buddy.

Wishing you many happy miles with your City.

Welcome back,HG-or rather Wilkommen,Herr HG,

1.Thank you very much. I have many more snaps-would like to write a proper travelogue-but time is not budging to my command.

2.The cycle of Karma has to take a full turn, right. A German will understand it better.

3. 7000 odds was for bumper and boot lid. The boot lid had got deformed too. The same was straightened, re-aligned and painted.Yes NCB is gone-sigh..

Kiran, I have not heard the OE HU-replaced with Caska right away. I feel Caska's bass needs enhancing. I had mentioned it in my short review. I feel we may have to install a amp and sub for full effect. Or can it be corrected by changing the settings? I am not sure- not very optimistic.

Hey bluevolt, thanks for your concern and wishes,Mate. Yes, good mileage is possible with patience. I am counting on you and mdsaab on this.

Hope the construction is going full bloom.

Friends,

Thanks mate. I will see how best I can adjust the settings to get closer to the quality I was getting earlier. I will not think of going in for adding a sub for now.

Hey the headlamps look awsome. Can you provide more details on the specs of the headlamps and how much it costed?

One more thing I wanted to ask. What did you do with the audio system of your ANHC after going for CASKA HU? Did you sell it off? I have asked the dealer to find a good buyer and he has assured me that he will give me a buzz as soon as he finds one. Otherwise, this will just lie idle and start collecting dust making me feel bad.

Probably a fellow BHPian buying an EMT can make use of your OEM HU.
Why don;t you post an ad in the classified section of T-BHP.
