re: Ms. Temptation's Victim - My New Ford Fiesta Sedan (Diesel)

Congratulations on your new Fiesta. Thoroughly enjoyed reading your write up and the decision making process. Ford must be doing something right when people decide to buy their cars without TDing. When Ms. Temptation sets up shop in one's heart, it is impossible for the head to call the shots eh? It happens to all of us.

Nice to see Ford carry forward the DNA of the good handling Old Fiesta to the New Fiesta. I wish Ford reacts to the market reactions to some of the shoddy quality in the interiors and get their pricing right. The potential in the segment is amazing looking at the numbers the Verna and the City are putting up.

Have the sales charts of Figo made people in top management at Ford complacent? It's a real goof-up with the pricing of the new Fiesta. Hope they give it a second thought.
Thanks Driving_Nomad; I wish I had enquired earlier, I might have known Ms. Temptation does not victimise only me!!

The strategy at FMI looks unclear. Seems they are still testing waters with the new Fiesta, or maybe all focus is on the FOCUS.

How about a more detailed comparo with the Old Fiesta which you would now really well after 5 years with it. I did read a few points here and there about engine and arm-rest, but a more detailed one would be more useful.

From my short exp with the new Fiesta, I found the classic to be a much better purchase if one can dis-regard the extra features in the New Fiesta.
Thanks krish3; a more detailed comparison with the old Fiesta will follow in due course. Initially I did miss the turbo rush of the old Fiesta. However, the new Fiesta is adjusting well to my driving and performance has improved over the last 2 weeks.

Thanks AutoIndian; All questions are more than welcome.

Hope this one runs to over 100000 Kms, like your car!!

Re: Ms. Temptation's Victim....Buys the New Ford Fiesta Sedan

Nice write up, Sugeeta. A review of the new Fiesta was much needed here.

You know how you can get rid of that chime? By wearing the seat belt!!

re: Ms. Temptation's Victim - My New Ford Fiesta Sedan (Diesel)

Congrats on the new one.

I was so ready to buy this car before the launch and how Ford spoiled it for me and most of us.

But good to know you are having a ball with it

Cheers

Can totally relate to that , i did not even bother starting my research till this car came out and when it did i was left wondering why i waited at all. Very bad price point.

Congratulations Sugeeta! Finally the long-awaited review got published
I still remember the conversation with Ms. Temptation (when you first put up the opening post a few months back).

Good to know that the back seat is good to accommodate three comfortably. Do keep updating the thread. Happy driving!

It surely will, I have no second thoughts on that. But as you go on crunching miles, keep on adding messages to this thread (10 messages per thousand kms). So by the time you reach the 100K mark on your car, this thread should have at least a thousand posts

A very well written and comprehensive Initial Ownership Report. Well worth the wait. The car is amazing to drive and has ticked all the right boxes for me too. I am becoming increasingly impatient to own the car now...

A good percentage of accidents happen closer to home than you would imagine. May I suggest you make it a habit to wear the seat belt as soon as you get in the car, regardless of distance traveled?

re: Ms. Temptation's Victim - My New Ford Fiesta Sedan (Diesel)

Congrats for the Ford, sugeeta. Interesting narrative, I must say.
I also vivdly remember the Fiesta display at Select City with that pointer thingy to explore the car features on the screen. Glad that they were able to attract customers even after not so VFM pricing.

Definitely will keep you updated in case that happens.

Are you planning any mods on your new Fiesta? How much would your hubby be driving this car? Would you be doing anything for the rear arm rest hinges to cover it?

Also time to update your signature.

re: Ms. Temptation's Victim - My New Ford Fiesta Sedan (Diesel)

Woah!! Congratulations!! Congratulations!!
Have noticed the change in your avatar pic long back but thought will congratulate you on your ownership thread and here now it's already 3 pages and I have caught this late.

I am glad your likes are more than the dislikes. Happy to see it that way!! But I would differ on the rear seat space. Two persons sitting on the either side would be at comfort, but the third one sitting at the centre will have a sore back due to that center arm rest, it's just not comfortable for the long drives.
And yes the dark interiors takes the fun away from the good looking car. Seriously they should start offering the New Fiesta with beige/light coloured interior trims.

Lastly, more pics, more pics!! The one you posted does not do justice to such a good looking car.
