I have recently added seat covers to my City. The originals carried themselves for four years without any issue.
I have now gone for a reasonable PU leather type of Autoform. The purchase was made directly from the company. The fitters came to my house and did a decent job.

The door trims which are considered tricky have also been changed. the original door trims were in need of replacement.

The door trims are simply cut from a matching PU sheet and are pasted. Since the original trims were of fabric so these are pasted over them without removing them. It gives added stability as PU is easy to be pasted over it rather than on plastic.

Thanks dear. I also felt the same initially and asked them so. However finally we agreed that as only two colours are there in the car and black may not suit for the hand rest.

This is a very simple process and you just had to give the disability certificate to insurance company. The surprising part is that most of the private insurance companies would just show ignorance about it. But it is as per rules and they have to comply. It is advisable that you go to govt. insurance companies. I have been provided this concession by United India for last 17 years.

That was very useful info. I have done a google search further, and got to know the exact clause. It is "IMT 12, of Vehicle Insurance Act". If anyone requires a solid reference this can be used.

IMT.12. DISCOUNT FOR SPECIALLY DESIGNED/MODIFIED VEHICLES FOR THE BLIND, HANDICAPPED AND MENTALLY CHALLENGED PERSONS.

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in the policy it is hereby understood and agreed that the vehicle insured being specially designed /modified for use of blind, handicapped and mentally challenged persons and suitable endorsement to this effect having been incorporated in the Registration Book by the Registering Authority, a discount of 50% on the Own Damage premium for the vehicle insured is hereby allowed to the insured.

Subject otherwise to the terms exceptions conditions and limitations of the policy.
