These are smoked version of Indian headlamps.
The Euro styled lamps are Bi-focal varying in cluster design.
Sadly even if you did import the double barrel headlights from the UK, they wouldn't work due to incompatible wiring harness

Re: Polo 1.6 : My Grey Hound!

AFAIK, the euro ones come in double barrel as well as single like ours. Only the highline gets the double barrel. Black one must be getting made here in India itself only for export. Need to catch hold of a source. Can someone confirm whether the Wiring harness in Indian models is from the previous discontinued Polo? The Euro MFD in the dashboard is also very similar to the ones in Skoda Laura here.

They look fantastic though, how much did they cost?

The white lights though, I had in my earlier Zen and the light throw and visibility was very poor. It looked fantastic with that blue tinge but switched back to regular soon and was a waste of money.

Thanks Volkman! These headlamps came from Germany too.
I'll message you the pricing details.

Looks like you're running Crystal Vision or similar blue tinted bulbs , any improvement over stock ?
I'll message you the pricing details Ricci.

I'm using the Narva 90/100W bulbs.
These bulbs are amazing when compared to the stock or the Philips Crystal Vision.

Bala, I got this via a dealer in Germany.
I've messaged you all the details regarding the pricing & shipping.

Thanks Ritzy! That's true.
These headlamps are the one's available in Singapore, Australia & Europe (except Highline).
The Bi Focal headlamps what you've posted above is NOT compatible with the Indian spec Polo 6R.

These were imported from Germany. They are made by a company in Spain.
Yes, the wiring harness in the Indian Polo is from the previous model :(

I've messaged you the other details.

If you're talking about the Crystal Vision's, then yes. They have very little improvements over the stock bulbs. Hence I've upgraded to Narva.

Re: Polo 1.6 : My Grey Hound!

The blacked out lamps look great! But I was wondering if instead of importing a whole new headlamp unit, can't we just black out the lamps using DIY techniques? Or may be just ask one of the modifications shops to do it? Cuz the only difference between yours and the stock ones is that the eyelids and the S blade inside are painted black.
Just my 2 cents

That's what I initially had in mind, but was skeptical if any mod shop would be able to get the finish I wanted.

More over I didn't want the OEM headlamp assembly opened.

Re: Polo 1.6 : My Grey Hound!

What a pity we don't get this headlamp , and top off with incompatible wire harness.
The Polo as I read has already been complained about for poor headlamp effectiveness.

The dual reflector headlamp unit looks so much better than the single unit we get here, and I suppose in functional terms the separate high/low beams are probably much better too. Why is everyone calling it bi-focal , isn't that what we call eyeglasses with near/distance vision specific focal length ?

You need a better cam
Hope these pics fit the bill.

PS: You'll also get to see the Narva bulbs

Re: Polo 1.6 : My Grey Hound!

Does the bulb have blue band-clear band-blue band just like the Nightbreaker, or do my eyes deceive me and it is all blue ? I have used a Narva 100/90 clear bulb on my ZMA , read someplace Narva is a Philips sub-brand. Are you running a relay as well (or is it fitted from the factory ) on stock wiring I assume ?

As of today, I've only got my door pads & the steering wheel wrapped in leather.

For the seats, I'm going in for artificial leather from the same company.

Pricing:
5K - Steering wheel & door pads.
10K - Art Leather seats (would be fit next month)
Did you get the seats done already? 10k is for which quality level? Pics please!

Not yet s4ch!

I'm attaching a pic of a similar cover.
These aren't genuine leather. They are call Art leather (Artificial leather, I'm guessing)

After a brief silence, I'm updating the thread with an interesting modification.

After a lot of research, I decided to upgrade the antennae on the Polo to a Sharkfin antennae available with the Jetta.

Got it fixed yesterday & in all honesty, the car does look good with this upgrade.

The only issue (if I could call it one) was that the stock wiring didn't match the new antennae wiring, hence I had to cut it & splice it with the new antennae.

The radio reception remains unaffected.

I'm positive a lot of Vento owners would follow suit

Looks great, did you get this done at the dealers(VW) end?

What did it cost you for this modification?

Cheers!
