So, we are supposed to do some "night pics" specially of the interiors sometime this week. Bala wants to join. You wanna hop on too?

Just the other day, I decided to take this car for a small ride. My 4 year old nephew (who is in love with the car, to a point where he wants to exchange his father's i20 for this) wanted to experiance the air in your face experiance. So, took him on a small ride with the sunroof open, this kiddo standing.
Yeah, I am still up for the photoshoot! Let me know whenever
OT: If we are going out of town I will get my sorry set of binoculars too.

Bricks coming your way. But for the delayed party.
I didnt know that exchange offers are open. I begin bidding with my Nano.
Aah well you would probably fit it in your boot and drive off.

Awesome pics sukiwa. I love the use of the evening sun glow.

I got that umbrella thingy done in my Jazz. Easiest DIY ever!
Secret: Its not in the door though

Can someone confirm if I can get that/ similar privacy net installed in the aftermarket? I need to finalise my budget before it gets occupied by something else

No exchange offers going on! You wanna go with what a 4 year old thinks?
About the Nano fitting in the boot part - Lol! . That was the most hilarious way to descrive the size of that boot.

Where have you placed that? How about a pic on your thread?
And please dont tell me that you've just placed an umbrella in the Jazz, in case of rains. Knowing you, that is what you can come up with. Placing the umbrella in the car can also be a DIY for you .

Yes you can get these curtains fitted on any car. I know of one brand called P8 curtains or such. Even the authorized stockist is in our area. Next to that sorry a.s.s petrol pump near Karve statue. Shall send you a PM for the details.

two things here after I stopped laughing my well built tummy off
1. You are optimistic. Pic. Thread. Me. In one sentence, heck in one breath!
2. But I have to admit you do know me a bit. Its not having the umbrella that matters, its knowing where to place it. Its not in the boot though! And I DIM, yay

We will talk about them curtains when we meet next.

Wow.

I had to sum it up in one word,or else I would go on and on. yaar what beautiful pics!!

As suhaas said, this car looks very stealthy in black. Man, seeing those interior pics make me realize how spartan the interiors of my Waggie are!!

Lucky man you are sir, you own an absolutely beautiful example of automotive excellence!!

re: Black Lightning: My Skoda Superb 1.8 TSI DSG-UPDATE: DSG box replaced!

So, last evening the car did a quick run to Bombay and back. My brother was coming from Australia, and we had to go to the airport to recieve him.
My long lasting wish of driving this on the E-Way was finally fulfilled. YES! I hadnt driven the Superb on the E-Way till last evening.

Left Pune at 6:00PM and reached the airport at 9:15PM. E-way was fun! Wont mention speeds, as that would be wrong. All I shall mention is, even with speeds above the 150 mark, the FE returned was 13.1 kpl.

While coming back, the usual truck traffic on the E-way slowed down things. Still managed an FE of 13.5 kpl with speeds between 100-120 all the way.

Oh yeah, the entire drive, to and fro was done without using the horn even once! Why? The damn thing just wont work . Typical Skoda trait.
The car is at Europa, getting its horns fixed, as we speak.

Yes Bala, the horns are fixed. I dont know what went wrong (all I know, is that its a typical Skoda trait). The chauffeur took the car to Europa, one Saturday morning and got things fixed.

The horns were replaced free of cost (Yes, no labor charges too). One parking sensor was acting weird too. That, also was replaced for no charge.

So, all in all the cars doing great, plus Europa service has gone up a notch or two in my books.

Hey swanand,
Nice going with the Superb's toots and the parking sensor. Surprisingly they didn't charge.
Just curious, do u have extended warranty for the car?
Skoda shield ?

Umm, I dont know . No, seriously I dont. Need to check with the previous owner. He must've taken it. Unless there was a Skoda Shield in place, I am sure Europa wouldnt have done the job free of cost.

Hey Dkaile, Sorry for the delay in replying. I had all but forgotten to update this thread.

The car is doing great. No worries whatsoever. Only problem; Indian Summers - Black Car! Park it under the sun, and use the bonnet to fry eggs. Heck, I can use the bonnet as a substitute barbeque .

There's one street in Pune, near Monaro's house thats pretty long, staright and wide. A median throughout with no intersections whatsoever. The other night, while I met him for some after dinner smoko session, I decided to let go the car on that stretch.
It amazed me as to how soon can it reach the redline and stay there!

You know, there's never a bad time to take the car for a spin. So, on that note, why not meet tonight on the same spot ? We could go for a ride on that road too.

My only wish is, they do not come up with speed breakers on that stretch.

re: Black Lightning: My Skoda Superb 1.8 TSI DSG-UPDATE: DSG box replaced!

And it happens. The news I wish I never received.

The gear box in the car has started acting up. The other night, when the driver got the car home, he couldnt engage the reverse. When I checked it out, thats exactly what happened.
The car did slot in reverse, but it was as if, the reverse wasnt engaging. It felt as if the car was in N or P. Only accelaration, no motion whatsoever.
The D works fine, no concerns there at all.

The driver took the car to Europa, who did confirm the gearbox acting up.
As of now, the car sits in Europa for a new gearbox.

Thank god for extended warranty.

That is indeed some bad news Swanand. What did Europa say about the issue? Mechantronics, multiclutch or something else? When will the replacement parts arrive? Have they given you a standby car in the meantime?

You are eligible for a standby car or INR 3500.00 per day as taxi charges.

Hope your car comes home hale and healthy real soon.

re: Black Lightning: My Skoda Superb 1.8 TSI DSG-UPDATE: DSG box replaced!

Thanks for the insight Devdath!
I never knew about the taxi charges. Shall take it up with Europa today itself.
They said its the multiclutch. The parts have arrived and the car should be ready by tomorrow evening, or day after morning, latest.

No standby car has been provided. Truth be told, we didnt ask for one, as there is a spare car to use.

I too hope the car arrives like new, soon!
