Congratulations on the car! Looks absolutely stunning. Are you putting up an ownership review soon?

Can you clarify if you have opted for any kind of paint protection or teflon coating which you thought was necessary to maintain the sheen of the Torque Blue color? I ask since I am expecting delivery of this same coloured Swift in a month or two's time.

My Brother has booked Blue color at Tirunelveli last week and waiting period is 7 Months. it will be running in Chennai only.
He needs the car only after may 2012. so no issue for the waiting period.
Blue really looks cool on road.
Enjoy an Drive Safe

As per one of my friend's advice (2nd gen Swift Copper Red owner)
He did teflon coating at the time of delivery, but during the third service he had to do that again as the effect of coat was lost

He advised me not to waste money on teflon coating on delivery as car will look good when it is brand new .

He advised me to go for coating during the 3rd free service

So told my dad to avoid teflon coating now. It is according to my opinion
Dunno if i m technically right on this issue

Yeah will try post the review Atleast a bare-bones review soon

Cheers

^^ Vig,my advice to you would be to give the car a coat of Meguiar's Polymer sealant ; works real good and once you find the surface less slippery, just give it a coat of good wax.

re: Maruti Swift : Test Drive & Review

I have booked ZDi in August but after strike only VDi model is getting manufactured. This is as per my observation as well as dealer also confirmed the same. I have called few more dealers also and all are saying that only VDi's are coming nowadays no ZDi and nobody knows why.
I have been to take delivery of VDi if I want, but I refused as I want ZDi model only.

Anybody knows why no ZDi's are coming out. The wait is killing.

I had also booked Zdi in Aug and my dealer is also quoting the same that no Zdi's are being delivered. It may be because of the reason that more than 50000 bookings are only for Vdi model.

The dealer has also informed that a lot of Ldi's have also been booked. The dealer is also not giving any concrete information about the delivery schedule.

This wait is killing my patience. In case if by 1st week of Dec, I do not get the delivery I would have to go for Polo/i20 even if I have to pay little extra.

re: Maruti Swift : Test Drive & Review

Did anybody have any inside information about the state of ZDi. By when ZDi's will start coming. I am also thinking about i20 asta but it also has around 2 months of waiting.
I hope to get ZDi before that.

Almost all the new Swifts i've seen on the roads of Chennai have been ZDi's.

I am also hearing from dealers here in Bangalore that no ZDis have been delivered after the strike got called off. Your relative is lucky. I booked my ZDi in early September, looks like I have to wait a long long time.

re: Maruti Swift : Test Drive & Review

Good colour, congratulations, have a very pleasent ownership experience with your new car.

There are thereads in the forum which discuss the pro's and con's of teflon coating. In my personal opinion, its just a waste of money, at any point in time. Do take a informed decision.

And give her some good high security license plates, they greatly enhance the look of the swift.

Congrats Viki!

Really looking forward to seeing your car out on the road. I have booked Torque blue (Which I'll most probably be changing to white), but always had a weakness for blue. Hence wanted to see more cars before deciding. Waiting period helps too!

Team-Bhp does not recommend Teflon coating on new cars!

For all your colour maintainence queries, go through this thread-

It would only take few days to clear-off entire list of ZDi customers, but that i not the case with VDi! However, I had received a call from my dealership last week that a black ZDi is available and I can pick it up if so desired!
