Its the road tax in karnataka that's very high. The road tax for a car in the zdi s price range in karnataka is 15.4%

re: Maruti Swift : Test Drive & Review

I booked the vehicle for 6.84 L in July.

Got the vehicle for 6.95 L in december 1st week where in it was increased to 6.97L in dec 3rd week.

Now with 17K hike it will be 7.14L.

One good this is that ill be able to sell the vehicle for the same price i bought after .. say 3 years

Edit : This is with regards to VDI in bangalore

re: Maruti Swift : Test Drive & Review

I had booked my Zdi in Aug for 6.95 Lac OTR. Then their was a price hike in Nov and when I took the delivery on 27th Nov, I had paid 7.06 Lacs in total.

Now again their is a hike. Lets assume if in future Rupee gains and reached 45 or 46 per $, then would the same be passed on to the end customer, I doubt so.

re: Maruti Swift : Test Drive & Review

i had booked a maruti swift zdi with vishnucars on jan 4 th 2012. now today dealer called and informed me that the price hike is 20k. The booking price was 761445 and now the price stands at 781255 at chennai.

i saw in websites that there was a increase of 17k in swift. how come my dealer is charging extra 3 k. He says the increase in price would also increase road tax and service charge and it comes close to 19-20k increase. Is that true?

yup it is true. As the increase is only on the onroad price. There will be a corresponding road tax increase as well. In Hyderabad that has gone up by 21k. the revised price is now close to Rs 7,95,900/-

re: Maruti Swift : Test Drive & Review

A colleague of mine was charged Rs.3050 for his 1000/1month service. Aint it a bit too high, considering that it did not include labor ? I think they changed his oil (2700 rupees), but have not changed the oil filter. Is an oil change required at this stage for the DDis ?

I checked out his ZDi side by side with my older ZXi and here are my observations :
- Hugely improved materials and interior "feel". The plastics feel 1 grade higher. Or even more than my car.
- Better perceived quality of construction. Example, the internal door latches, pure plastic on the older car, nicely chromed on the new one.
- Similar front seats as the older car. Read that as very comfortable. Both of us sport similar Autoform art leather.
- Better sounding stock audio of the newer car. Almost in the Figo league now. The earlier stock system sounds much flatter in comparison.

Rs.3050 seems pretty high for a simple first free service. Any idea how much the first service cost for the petrol version K12 engine is like?

I paid 0 rupees for my my K12's first servicing.
700 odd (wheel balancing and weights) for the 2nd.
1350 for the 3rd with oil+ filter changes.

Mine is the older K12. I think the new one will be similar.

Thanks. Mine is the new VVT K12 and my first service would be coming up in a couple of weeks time. Its done about 500 kms till now. Good to hear the figures, seems pretty reasonable costs for the petrol mill.

OT- its a real sweet mill, this. And it is so damn hard to keep the revs under 2k. Just feels like it wants to rev and rev and then rev some more

Which service station was that? My first service cost for the VDI was Rs. 1200/-. This includes oil + oil filter change. I was present personally at the service station and ensured that they did what I had asked them to do.

Did he get synthetic oil (not recommended) on his first service? I would be interested in seeing his bill.

Is oil filter change required during 1st service? Because during my VDi's 1st service, only the oil was changed and the service guys told me that the filter will be changed when the oil will be changed next, i.e. 3rd service.

The total cost came at 750/-, which included oil and a bottle of distilled water.
