re: Living Tmrrw 2Day - Toyota Etios Liva G - SP Vermilion Red - 10,000 kms

Forgot to update the thread. Got the Kagu 3D mats for the car. The front comes with the carpet holder grooves. Paid 4500 for the complete set. It sort of reduced the road noise as well (may be just my perception as well).

Will post the pictures of the mats today evening once I click them.

Can you share from where you got them ? Is it the maxspider mat or just kagu mat?

@Sagar: Picked this up from Satya (EVO). The mat say, Kagu 3D. Not sure how maxspider looks like.

A few pics. Kindly excuse as the mats are a bit dirty courtesy of yesterday's rain in Bangalore.

Will getting the sunfilm removed tomorrow even at the 3M Car Care Center at the HSR layout.

Any specific precaution I need to take before getting the sunfilm removed.

The heart burns when your money is going down the drain due to a person who is out of his mind to have filed the PIL.

Don't remove the CR-70. Just the sides should do.

Getting only the CS35 off. Will not bother to remove the CR-70 even if caught. By the way, its way too transperent unless somebody comes and investigates really well.

Feels sad to remove it doesn't it. I'll be removing my CS20 as well tomorrow.

re: Living Tmrrw 2Day - Toyota Etios Liva G - SP Vermilion Red - 10,000 kms

The vehicle went through the 2nd Service (10,000 kms). Odo at 9925.
Service details.

Parts & Consumables

1) Fluid Windshield Washer - Rs. 86.22/- (Since the windshield washer tank was already full they added the concentrate. It already had sonax, Now the solution too concentrated)

2) Wheel Balance Weight - 4 units - Rs. 84.36/-

3) Oil Gasket, Pan Drain - 1 unit - Rs. 34.20/-

4) Oil Filter - 1 unit - Rs. 196.08/-

5) Wheel Tag - 4 units - Rs. 18.24/-

6) Engine Oil - 3 Litres - Rs. 792.07/-

Labour Charges

1) Wheel Balance - Rs. 205.62/-

2) Wheel Alignment - Rs. 411.24/-

3) Others - Ventilator - Rs. 102.81/-

Service Bill = Rs. 1,754/-
I opted for the Chrome rings for the AC vents and the Chrome bezel for the Gear boot.

1) Chrome rings - Rs. 1,300/-

2) Chrome Gear Boot Bezel - Rs. 980.40/-

Service experience at VIVA Toyota.

Rated them 8/10. Everything went on smooth expect for 2 things.

1) Wheel alignment - The car was pulling to the right after the wheel rotation and wheel alignment to which the technician was arguing that it was my illusion and Liva cars behave the same way. Asked him take a new car in the yard out, which we did and withing driving a 100 meters it was very clear that the alignment was incorrect and they redid it and it was fine this time.

2) Wind Shield washer concentrate simply added without even bothering to check the actual contents in the tank.

Will upload the photos of the alignment readings and the scratch on the left ORVM.

Detailed review coming with the upload.

@Mods: Please update the thread title to "Living Tmrrw 2Day - Toyota Etios Liva G - SP Vermilion Red - 10,000 kms"

Re:10000 Km review

The car clocked 10,000 kms on the odo yesterday evening. The 2nd service was done on the 26th of May 2012.

+ves
  • its a no non sense practical car for a family.
  • Decent mileage (exceeds my expectation of 12 kmpl for city and 17 kmpl for the highway.
  • Good mile muncher for the highways. The mid range is where this engine loves it.
  • Superb brakes.
  • Neutral handling and balanced ride quality
  • Good amount of legroom
  • decent sized boot (wish it could have been a bit bigger)
  • fuel efficient engine.
  • Good AC (Note to clean the AC filter every 5000 kms which will keep the blower in healthy condition)
  • airy feel inside the cabin.
-Ves
  • flimsy feel of the interiors
  • Mild rattle from the AC vents (fixed for the second time, hope it stays that way)
  • the rear sags a bit when fully loaded which ensures the mudflaps scrape the hump (biggers ones)
  • Headlight leveling device location not so convenient to use
A few stats.

Best Efficiency - 26.61 kmpl
Worst Efficiency - 12.35 kmpl

City Efficiency Avg - 14.80 kmpl
High Efficiency Avg - 20.88 kmpl

Service costs

1st Service - Rs 1,009.81/- (Voluntary change of oil and oil filter)
2nd Service - Rs 1754/- (should not have opted for the wheel alignment and balancing, would have reduced the cost by 700 odd rupees)
Total = 2854.81

Servicing cost per km - 28.54 paise (note, if the pil was not changed during the first service, it would have been 17.54 paise) which is reasonable.

Thats it for now, will post if something comes across that I have missed posting.

Re: Living Tmrrw 2Day - Toyota Etios Liva G - SP Vermilion Red - 10,000 kms

That is great mileage. I never got more than 12 kmpl in city driving. Though I always drive with AC on and I shift at 2.5-3K.

Re: Living Tmrrw 2Day - Toyota Etios Liva G - SP Vermilion Red - 10,000 kms

Its been a while since the thread was updated after the service.

I did another drive to Bandipur and Ooty with a couple of Safaris in Bandipur.

The odo stands at 11,090 kms.

Some stats on the usage of the car.

Days car owned: 243

Kms per day: 46

Days for 100 kms: 2.19.

One thing to note is that the kms are being piled up on the highways with little on the city roads. Its more like 75% on highways and the rest in the city.

Got a few team-bhp stickers on the car.

Live to Drive

Re: Living Tmrrw 2Day - Toyota Etios Liva G - SP Vermilion Red - 10,000 kms

An update after a month. Nothing much to update as the car is running as its supposed to.

Had the first puncture on the front right tyre. Cost to fix it Rs. 100/-

Got the crap wipers out and got the Hella Wipers with the anti drip wiping (something similar to the ones seen on Punto & Linea). The wipe quality is light years ahead of the stock Wipers.
  • Cost - Rs. 700/-
  • Bought From - Reliance Auto Zone (KH Road)
  • Wiper Blande length - 26 inches.
Yet to take the pics of the wiper. Will post the pics of the wiper

Some stats now.
  1. Odo is at 11,907 kms closing in on the 12,000 km mark.
  2. Days car owned: 275
  3. Kms per day: 43.3
  4. Days for 100 kms: 2.31
  5. Total Service Cost - Rs. 2854/-
  6. Servicing cost per km - 24. paise.
  7. Fuel Cost - Rs. 51,102/-
  8. Cost per km - 4.29
  9. Total running cost - Rs. 4.53/- (seems quite reasonable considering this is a petrol car
Have got my RTR up and running after 3 months. I will open an another thread for the RTR under the bike section. The usage of the car has reduced.

By the way I might swap the Liva for another Sedan or hatch , but nothing finalized yet will proceed only if I get a good price for my Liva.

If anybody interested in my Liva can PM me.
