Re: Celebrate Eleganza - Tata Manza Elan Quadrajet Celebration Edition !

I have created some videos as well.

Highlighting various features of the car and kind of a tutorial.

But since they can't be uploaded directly on T-BHP - will upload them on YouTube & then share the links here.

But that will take some time.

Till then .... This is it for now.

I will religiously maintain this thread as much as possible.

& every minor repair, modification, experience I shall keep posting on this thread till the day I won this lovely Manza.

Thank you T-BHP.

Re: Celebrate Eleganza - Tata Manza Elan Quadrajet Celebration Edition !

So what is the Manza all about ?

Well it can be what you want it to be.

It can be a sedate sedan - LUXURIOUSLY cruising through the city with you in the ultimate seat of comfort.

It can be a highway romper - oh yeah - it loves to chew up the miles & asks very very little in return in terms of the fuel.

It is definitely something anyone buying a Dzire or Verito should consider once. Without fail.

But those opting for the Vento, City, SX4 ?

Yes - this is Tata - telling you - give me a glance, a second glance. Take me out for a drive. & you will not go back.

It is Tata - trying to re-enter the game with an upped ante.
Trying to raise the bar. Improve. Surprise. Celebrate.

Those considering the Innova or Scorpio might not want to consider it - but if you were buying those only for highway trips & a diesel engine - you can give it a 2nd thought.

It is no super-performer. With stunning 0-100 timing.

But it is no slow poke city cruised either.

Need to overtake that pesky driver - just push the pedal down & it will roar through. Without down shifting.
Sudden patch of rough road? Just sail through - you won't even realize how bad the patch actually was.
Want to impress your young cousin - just show off the numerous techno features available!
Want to pamper yourself - go for a nice drive in the Manza.

Its a good all round car. More at home on highways (like most Tata cars) but not at all uncomfortable in the city either (unlike most Tata cars).
It has something for everyone - & yet some more.

Emphasizing Tata's philosophy since years - More Car Per Car.

Though I might dare to add :

I think the Aura ABS version makes more sense.
You can retro-fit everything you want (except the steering controls & bits of chrome).
& still might land a better deal.

But then - a Limited Edition - has it's own charm.
& a limited edition that is at a price point - which is the entry level for most of the cars in the segment above - & YET better in a LOT of aspects. .... now THAT is fun UnLimited !

Congrats and have great miles on it. Color looks fantastic and so does the interior size, which puts cars in bigger segments to shame

Thank you!

While I was not so sure about the colour earlier - it have come to really like it.

I still have not been able to capture it in all angles.

Hopefully soon.

Thank you.

Suraj, I must say, a superb photoshoot !!!. We are allowed only 2 smileys, or would have put up more !! Have you got a chance to check the mileage figures. I have an SX4 ZDi,which as you know comes with the same engine.I get about 13 kmpl @ 100% A/c. Was curious to know your figures
Thanks & Enjoy your Manza

Dr. Suraj

That is a stunning report. I have rated it 5 stars, for the sheer exhaustive nature of it, excellently supported by loads of pics. Almost a complete report I say.

Being a Tata Vista owner myself for the last 2.5 years, I can relate to all the sentiments here. Even though I own the new generation of Tata vehicles, yours is even better and far far better. Tata has really stepped up the game in terms of quality of parts, CRM and other typical negatives. But still IMO, they have a long way to go.

Manza was always a good product from Tata and the Celebration edition is just too good. Even I never liked those burgandy interiors on the Elan edition. Good Tata introduced the Celebration edition. In this entry level sedan segment, I never liked any of the Manza's competitors, except may be the Fiest Classic. But the Classic lacks the space and Ford spares' cost is slightly on a higher side compared to Tata's. BTW, did you not look at Fiesta Classic? Fiesta Classic SXi variant costs almost the same as the Celebration edition of Manza.

You have made some big statements in the report, but I agree to most of them.

Finally, wishing you all the very best with this wonderful product from Tata (I guess its the best considering the price and overall package). Waiting on few other aspects that you've not updated yet:
1) FE
2) GC
3) Behaviour with 4-5 adults and boot-full of luggage (most concerning factor for me to consider Manza as my next car)

Congrats Dr.
Manza QuardaJet = Money well spent.
I'm a fan of Vista/Manza QJT. IMO These are one of the most underrated cars on our road today.

Re: Celebrate Eleganza - Tata Manza Elan Quadrajet Celebration Edition !

Fantastic ownership thread - am glued on to this one.

A couple of observations though

1. Was reading another Manza ownership thread and multiple owners reported that the stereo controls for audio were not backlit. This is clearly not the case in your car. Did Tata change this? or was it not working for some?

2. The MID display is not very sharp. I have seen this in multiple images, that the MID appears that there is an unremoved layer of plastic or something, that causes the display to appear blurry. Readable, but not sharp. Any similar observations?

Congrats Doctor. Wishing you a long and trouble free ownership.

A very detailed report you got there. Simply love that color of Manza. Looks even better in flesh.

One query - You got only 40K for the Jumbo?? Was it because it was submerged in water? ODO reading was not that high even though it was a 6 year old car.
