Re: Dhanno meets Banno – My Silver Civic VMT

We've moved to Gurgaon now, and i am looking for some good service centers/repair shops near Gurgaon. If someone has positive experiences to share please do. I am not too keen on going to Honda A.S.S. But might have to go if there is no other option.

Car has been painless as most Japs are and have been running very well. Will have more updates post service etc.

Re: Dhanno meets Banno – My Silver Civic VMT

Car has done 86K on odo, it was time to change the shoes as the older ones were worn out from the sides, they were also impacting ride quality.

Changed to Yokos, have been driving them for last 5 days over bad roads, clean roads, empty roads and no roads. Reasonably happy with what they are delivering at the moment. Lets see how long do these last.

First batch of Michelin lasted ~55K, the next one only lasted 30K.

Next is body work and some Suspension work on the car. Still looking for a good repair shop in Bangalore. Dont want to give to Honda A.S.S.

Re: Dhanno meets Banno – My Silver Civic VMT

Its been 6/7 months since suspensions change, they have been running very well. Super satisfied with their performance. The car runs planted on the road, gone is the time when soft suspension made the car float and used to bottom out on large bumps.

Re: Dhanno meets Banno – My Silver Civic VMT

Lat week Civic crossed 1L Kms, this is first of any car's that i have owned in the past/present to cross this milestone. The way the car is driving is a testimony to how good Honda builds its cars. The car still drives very smooth, and very responsive. Gives me a smile whenever i rev it hard.

* Fuel efficiency continues to be above ~12
* Other than suspensions change there has been no major repairs
* Tyres have been changed at 40K and ~80K kms
* Battery has been changed once.

Hopefully many more miles to go.

Civic 2012 Suspension upgrade

I have a 2012 Civic with 130k on the odo. I am in no mood to sell it off as my next purchase is going to be a german, and I'd definitely want to keep a Japanese car as a fallback. The car has been relatively trouble free and only acts out whenever it comes back from the service center (honda a.s.s.).
But lately, I feel like the suspension has become too jarring.

So, I'm looking to get back that new car comfort with this one, and I have a few questions:
1. Do I need a complete suspension overhaul, or just new dampers would do the job?
2. What are all the parts that I should be looking to change? I mean dampers, arms etc?
3. Should I go with the OEM parts or should I get something fancy?
4. I'd be looking at new tires in another 10k kms, should I go for 17s or stick with 15s? I mean 17s with better rubber would handle so much better but would I lose the new car like comfort?
5. I currently have Michelin XM2s and they are garbage. What sort of tires should I be looking at?
6. This is off this particular topic, but can someone suggest a good exhaust and where to get it from in Delhi NCR?

I'd really appreciate any suggestions/information. Thanks.

Re: Civic 2012 Suspension upgrade

I have upgraded my Civic suspensions to Sachs, its been almost a year since then and they are performing wonderfully.

Hope this helps.
