May be it was just me, but I hate to rip new cars no matter whom it belongs too.

my story on aveo 1.4 LS !!

Hi all,

I also took a test drive the 1.4 LS Aveo today and here’s my story...

1) The car looks great and the extra large bowtie logo makes a strong presence of the car felt on the road
2) I just loved the interiors, feels real classy and plush.
3) Head turner for sure.
4) The engine is surely refined. The car makes absolutely no noise when started.
5) I did not feel the punch of the 93 bhp engine; I would say not a very responsive engine.
6) The brakes… when I slammed the brakes a little hard, the car skidded.
7) The car is very comfortable for average height persons, and a little pain for the taller ones as the shapes of the dashboard will sure hurt the knee when u try to get in.
8) The cabin has good sound insulation.
9) The car is best for the backseat people, feels really luxurious. Ample leg room in the back, and a nice view in the front.
10) The ride was fun and it can be a perfect city car.
11) but the AC disappoints very much, it just could not cool me in the 10 mnts i was sitting at the back!!
Overall it’s a nice car, nothing can stop you buying the car if u have the money.

Model - On road Price (Ex-Thane octroi less)
Aveo 1.4 - 6,34,748
Aveo 1.4 LS - 6,89,578
Aveo 1.6 LT - 7,45,507
Aveo 1.6 LT - 7,99,259
Optional
So if you look at the pricing the best buy would be the Aveo 1.4 as for the price of 1.4 LS you can get a fiesta 1.6 Zxi.

Excellent pics, Busa (at Udit Motors?)! The pics and your report give me a feeling... A new star is born! Probably a lot more will be talked about Aveo (esp 1.6 variant) in 2006 than any other car...

One think that I disliked about Aveo is the position of the Glove compartment. If you open it then its cover falls on the lap of the passenger.

Doesnt this car have a lot in common with the positioning of the Corsa? GM + Nice Interiors + Great ride quality + lazy engine + smaller interiors?

I dont quite agree with the lazy engine part....the Corsa 1.6 had a lot of grunt in it compared to its rivals such as the accent.

Thats true - but the laziness lies in how that 'grunt' is delivered to you. The corsa 1.6 engine did not seem very willing to be revved hard - one had to really push it to extract the power from it. Compare it to the Ikon's rocam or the esteem and you will know.

Ditto for the Optra 1.6 - its very sluggish initially, and then, when you push it hard enough, it dumps a load of power in your lap.

Isn't this car replacing Corsa ?

I disagree with smaller interiors part. The cabin is very spacious compared to Corsa

Does not necessarily mean it has to have the same attributes. Compare the NHC to the OHC.

The Redesigned Aveo

HI,

Was just browsing chevy's global site and found that they are touting the Aveo (which has already been released here) as the "Redesigned 2007 Aveo 4-Door". Is it just me or is this strange????

Cheers,
Xentric
