Re: I am in LUV literally - My Maruti Ertiga ZXI

Excellent review and many congrats.

Maruti obviously understands Indian consumer's mindset very well and has always launched products that have received great response from the consumer. I guess this car is also headed in that direction.

Very thoughtful of you to show pictures with folded newspapers. It gives exact idea of the actual space/depth available and pics dont mislead / misguide the readers. Thanks for sharing.

What is the GC in Ertiga? How much was it in your old Uno?

How are the suspensions when you travel with four or more passengers? Is there any body roll?

Re: I am in LUV literally - My Maruti Ertiga ZXI

Congratulations Mr. Ajay on the new Ertiga.

Thanks for penning down such a comprehensive review with pictures, it suddenly makes the Ertiga look much more attractive.

I particularly liked the push in / push out cup holders as well as the stow away compartment for the jack. Very neat.

Wishing you and your family many thousand smiling miles with the Ertiga.

Maruti did not provide any accessories. And beggers are not choosers :-0.

The MATs are good ones and are like we use as ourdoormats. They were cut to size from rectangular slabs. They cost me Rs 1850 from accessories shop.

GC of Ertiga - 185mm
GC of Uno - 155mm

Body roll
With semi-full-load (4Adults+4kids) is not much different from that of Swift. However I have not tested the vehicle to its limit.

Re: I am in LUV literally - My Maruti Ertiga ZXI

Congratulations on your lovely vehicle.

How does the Ertiga perform on the speed breakers ? I hope it doesn't scrape the speed breakers because of its long wheelbase.

@Ajay, I know the A.C. does not affect drivability much but was concerned about the cooling of the A.C. Anyway thanks.
Not exactly; pre-2009 facelift innova had E, G1-G4 and V as the model range where G4 have the Tacho and Dual AC.

After the facelift the model range was changed to E, G GX, and V. Even current 2012 facelift also as similar model range with GX also getting ABS as standard along with earlier GX features.

Re: I am in LUV literally - My Maruti Ertiga ZXI

Congrats Ajay for the car, and for the superb review! Enjoy the exclusivity now!

Seeing the kind of bookings Ertiga gather, it seems like customers were just waiting for a proper replacement for their hatchbacks, IMO.

Re: I am in LUV literally - My Maruti Ertiga ZXI

@Ajay: Very crisp review. I am sure you will have more things to share as you spend more time with the car. Have a wonderful, long-lasting ownership - just like your Uno.

I liked your idea of spreading newspapers to depict the space that the car offers in your photos. Very thoughtful.

Re: I am in LUV literally - My Maruti Ertiga ZXI

Ajay, congrats on owing perhaps the first Ertiga in Tbhp. You bought the car so soon after launch; it feels like Maruti saw your requirements before coming out with this car. It certainly opens up a new segment. I think Rio from Premier Automobiles tried to do something like this but has much succeeded but Maruti i am guess has a winner in its hands.

Just one question for you, does the quarter glass in the A-pillar hamper cornering visibility?

Re: I am in LUV literally - My Maruti Ertiga ZXI

Congratulations Ajay !! A Brilliant VFM product with Maruti behind it.

Would like some info on the points below -
1. Where are the rear speakers located ?
2. How is the lumbar support in the 1st second and 3rd row seats - are their any adjustments for this?
3. How much is the gap between the 3rd row head rest and the rear door glass- approx.

Thanks in advance.

Last edited by hubolt : 23rd April 2012 at 16:38. Reason: missed info - lumbar support in 2nd row as well

Re: I am in LUV literally - My Maruti Ertiga ZXI

Congrats on the new buy mate! I went to one of the showrooms on Old Airport road, Bangalore and took a look at this machine. Though it seems pretty compact for a MUV (in comparison to other MUVs currently available), space inside wasn't very impressive. Space on the middle row was just fine for two adults and the third person sat with utmost discomfort! Also the last row to me was just useless. I could hardly spend few minutes there! Unless your kids are really small or family members who are of average built, fold the seats and use this space for some cargo!
