re: Review: 1st-gen Maruti Ertiga

If I was allowed to daydream, I would wish for a 1.6 DDIS 320 version of Ertiga. Even without any other facelift, that would be a killer product- easily worth another 1000 units sold every month.

Seriously, I can even consider trading in my Innova for a 1.6 DDIS 320 version of Ertiga. A rear wheel drive Ertiga would be the icing on the cake, but that is "day dreaming raise to the power N".

Edit: Contrapunto mate, I just saw your changed signature, "Innova G (pre-owned) Mar'12- Jul'15". So have you sold off your Innova. Can you please share more details on that (PM me in case you don't want to share it here)

Speculated changes,

•Increase in fuel efficiency
•New twin-slat chrome front grille and Bumpers
•New Z+ & V+ trim
•Engine start / stop button
•Optional Leather seat upholstery
•Smart play stereo system
I wish the Tail lamp design be modified. I waited long enough only to get the impression that tail lamp would not be modified at this point, and finally purchased Ertiga ZDi three months back as was getting a good deal.

the new looks of Suzuki Ertiga now, with are a bigger grille and bumper, plus an additional LED DRL lamp below the bumper. That’s a significant changes even as Suzuki did not replace their headlamp, eventually they can add something more, such as projection lamp or LED positioning lamp

According to our secret source, there are still many possibilities on that car can be change. It can be the highest variant Ertiga facelift, or it may be just for modification which will be on display only.

PM-ed you the details of the deal since its OT here. But seriously, I would agree a 320 DDIS could tempt many, many Innova buyers. I know that for 80k Km that I have used the Innova, not more than 1000 Km needed the 3rd row.

In fact, my default state is to have the 3rd row flat down with a Scorpio boot mat as advised elsewhere in this forum

Thank you Contrapunto for your PM, I will reply back to you on that. 320 DDIS Ertiga could tempt many Innova buyers, true, but would MSIL be able to price it sensibly, I don't think so. Coming here after going through the pricing debacle of 320 DDIS on the S-Cross thread. The 320 DDIS is commanding a premium of 3 lakhs over the equivalent 200 DDIS. So a top end Ertiga ZDi costing 10.5 lacs onroad will go beyond 14 lacs OTR with the 320 DDIS engine. Till the time MSIL can start manufacturing the 320 DDIS locally, it will remain a distant dream.

re: Review: 1st-gen Maruti Ertiga

My wishlist for the new Ertiga -

1) Auto Gear Shift from Celerio (Very Very Imp)
2) Climate Control AC (Very Imp)
3) Touch Screen Infotainment with GPS (Very Imp)
4) Better build quality to curb rattles. (Imp)
5) 60:40 3rd row. (Not so important)

Hope I get all of the above as I already have my mind set on current ZDi.

How about

Tumble 2nd row seats like in Mobilio & Lodgy for easy ingress to 3rd row.
Redesigned Rear to improve looks
Cruise Control for comfortable long distance driving

Cruise Control - YES. That keeps me pulling towards XUV and Scorpio.

Rear design improvement is definitely not on cards considering the spy shots. So can't really expect anything in that department.

Suzuki Ertiga Sporty is seen in the pictures. Looks really classy. I wish we could get this here as well. I will buy one immediately. Please Maruti bring this for us in India. This Ertiga with new features & better engine will be great buy for sure. Lets keep fingers crossed.

IMO, the bottom ends of the car look like a after thought. More like an aftermarket accessory to give it a sporty look. The front bumper looks very upmarket though.

And oh yes, love those new alloys. WOW

Why is it that maruti thinks copying honda is cool?

First they made a mess of already ugly dzire and now ertiga

Current gen ertiga is much cleaner design. I guess resale value will be better too for older ertiga
