They are now clubbing the newly launched S-Cross under utility vehicles. If I remember correctly, Maruti has sold(factory dispatches) close to 4500 units of S-Cross in August, so that takes the Ertiga numbers to approximately 3000 units.

Errrrrrr.... @KP..... "early lunch".... Oh I see they exhausted their stockpile and gone out for celebration lunch.

😁

IMHO hybrids are more economically effective at higher price points for manufacturers.

The sudden dip in Ertiga sales is attibuted to the impending launch of the facelift (and related stock clearance) more than scross effect.

I wholeheartedly agree, Sir. I just provided the statistics for the sales in my post, didn't mean that Ertiga is affected by S-Cross. Ertiga and S Cross will have negligible cross shopping from prospective customers.

re: Review: 1st-gen Maruti Ertiga

My Ertiga VDI has completed 34500km and the battery is very weak. I am planning to change the battery. Which brand is the best (reliable)? I got a quote of Rs. 4889 from batterybhai.com for Amaron AAM-FL-565106590 capacity 65Ah with warranty of 48 months.

I'll suggest Amaron over Exide or any other brand.

They last long and are reliable than the rest.

After changing my battery from Exide to Amaron, my Ritz diesel cranks much faster and the horn never feels week with full lights on. Using it over a year now and will recommend it as well.

re: Review: 1st-gen Maruti Ertiga

The amaron site recommends GO-565106590 with 18 months free warranty and 18 months prorata warrenty for the diesel ertiga. For petrol model the site recommengs many more options like Pro/Flo/Go/Black/Fresh etc.
Any thoughts on this ?

re: Review: 1st-gen Maruti Ertiga

Guys, carblogindia is carrying this report today.

http://indianautosblog.com/2015/09/2...+Autos+blog%29

Quote:
Economic Times reports that the next generation Maruti Ertiga, which will launch sometime between October 2017 to January 2018 is codenamed ‘YHA’. Following news reports on the next generation Swift and Dzire, its only natural to hear about the next Ertiga, given that the MPV uses the same platform as the Swift.

The report further states that the next gen Ertiga will get a new 1.5-liter diesel engine, a Suzuki-developed unit, and a new 1.4-liter petrol engine. The 1.5-liter diesel unit is expected to be a mainstay on all of Maruti’s B-segment products, right from the Swift to the Dzire and Ertiga, to the YBA compact SUV (Note: On the YBA, reports say that the 1.5L diesel engine will be introduced during its mid-life facelift).
The next gen Ertiga will also get fuel efficiency enhancing features like the SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) and a lightweight platform. Maruti plans on retaining its lead in the segment with the Ertiga, which sells an average of 5,160 units/month, but the newspaper reports the company will be looking at 80,000 units/annum (6,666 units/month) with the next-gen model.

Great development and hope the 1.5L D is good to drive and as hooliganistic as the DDiS 320.

If and when I get the SCross, I'll buy this alloy as MGA and swap it hope the 205 section fits.

Hope to see fresher colours and black, in particular which goes well with the design.

You as an enthusiast seem to have a lot of desire when it comes to wishlist that I now feel Maruti Suzuki should accept over the counter orders for cars that can be customized .

I remember you told me how you wished a Swift with a 90 Horsepower and a VGT or How you want the Ertiga with a DDiS 320.

If and when I get the SCross,
C'mon, head out for highway drives every weekend and keep the numbers rolling and finish off those 1 Lakh Kilometers and buy that S Cross!! We are all eagerly waiting for one detailed review on the S-Cross in coming months!! We are curious if you will buy the XUV or the S-Cross but sure that you will take the right decision.

Not sure if that is possible.

Ertiga comes with 15" X 5.5 J
S-Cross is equipped with 16" X 6 J

So if you fit the alloy of the Ertiga into the S-Cross(assuming that both have same PCDs), you are actually downsizing in terms of the width of the alloy. 205's will be perfectly well on 6J (as is the case with the SX4 Z variants) while on a 5.5J there would little Balloon effect on the sidewall like I have on my Ertiga running on stockMGP alloys and 205 width tires.

Best to stick to the allowed range. The 5.5J rim can take certain width of tyres. Similarly, the 6J rims. There will be an overlap, and in such cases, ok to downsize the rim (for width)

Parag, in your case, I would have suggest not to. You do a lot of highway drives. If it was just city, it would be been still ok. One may argue that a little balooning is ok. But we can never say when this would have contributed - and any contribution would happen in the risky conditions.
