Yes it is from MID. I have only petrol ertiga. Interestingly I have not exceeded 60km/h as of now due to only city drive. But on average the speed is 30km/h. That's why am in a doubt about accuracy. Speed of 45km/h provides highest fuel economy as per my knowledge but my readings are quite different

re: Review: 1st-gen Maruti Ertiga

Completed 10K kms this month on my Ertiga ZDI+. The recent mileage figure I got was of 18.2 kms/ltr on NH4 on 500+kms drive one side (tank full to tank full method) with AC on all times. Average mileage on console shows 17.3.

Had received a dent under the door on driver side and got it repaired under insurance cover during the 10K service.

Some questions I had for seniors -
1. Will the mileage increase beyond the current 18.2 kms/ltr on highways after the 10K kms service.
2. How long will I loose no claim bonus?
3. Also, does anybody know how the average fuel consumption of 17.3 being displayed on my console is arrived at? For example does it calculate for last XXXX kms ?

1. As far as I know 10K service doesn't impact your mileage; 18.2 is a good mileage for diesel Ertiga. it's possible to extract more than that if you drive on a light foot but that will hit your overall highway driving experience. Mileage varies by a lot of parameters, so don't worry too much about it.

2. Since you made a claim now, you won't get a NCB next year (2017) when you renew.

3. It's calculated for the kilometers since the last reset in MID.

re: Review: 1st-gen Maruti Ertiga

Hello All

I own a 2014 Ertiga Zxi which has run 33000 Kms. Off-late I have noticed that the front suspension isn't stiff after going over a bump or even undulations. The rear seems stiff enough. The exact feel is as if it is moving left and right after a bump . Can you tell me if anyone has faced the same and what the problem might be. I am asking for help so that I dont go to MASS and end up changing unnecessary parts. Another thing to point out is that the Steering feels harder than usual at crawling speeds or from standstill. I am not sure if its related to the suspension. I would also like to know the costs involved as my car is out of warranty. thanks in advance.

@keshav1426: seems like a wheel alignment issue to me. Have you recently checked/corrected the alignment? If not i would suggest a checkup from an independent service provider.
I had kind off similar issue with my ecosport and it got corrected post wheel alognment and balancing.
Apart from this, is there any unwanted sound while going over bumps? If yes, then it might need a separate inspection from MASS.

re: Review: 1st-gen Maruti Ertiga

Have a quick doubt on MID readings. There are two types of readings on average per liter. One is instantaneous and other over some time. As per ARAI the average is 17.5 KMPL for petrol ertigas. I hope that is the best average. But I drove some 1000 KM over weekend and the average ertiga showing me is 18.2KMPL. drove through Bangalore, NH-7, then villages near veldurthi and so forth. So it is average of all types of driving from my side. It varied from crawling, stopping, going at 100KMPH and going at 40KMPH etc.

Could somebody please help me understand this 18.2KMPL reading? Somehow I do not believe this number right from day 1 of car purchase. May be I need to go with tank full method.

Regards,

Regards,
Always go with tank full method. Also, you need not worry about 18.2 vs 17.5 kmpl. I have a Baleno petrol and I have got FE figures on MID more than ARAI claimed. When I checked with tankful method, it was around 1 kmpl less than MID reading. But, I still got more than ARAI claimed figures . One of my relatives has petrol Ertiga and he would always complain of low FE, say around 13 to 13.5 KMPL as per MID. Please do a tankful method to verify.

Cheers!!

re: Review: 1st-gen Maruti Ertiga

My Ertiga completed 4 years. To celebrate
1. I bought a RD dual channel box - first 20 kms driving impression is positive; engine is responsive 300rpms earlier

2. Washed and polished the car myself

3. Removed the wheel caps, put hubcaps and painted the wheel nuts and hubcaps in black. Wondering if painting the suzuki logo in hubcap in silver makes its better or not.

Congratulations
I'm also using RD Dual channel box and felt the same, manageable torque is now available from 1600 RPM and no need to wait till it reaches 2000 RPM. This helps in bumper to bumper traffic. However the turbo-kick @ 2000 RPM is no more felt and power delivery feels more gradual..did you observe the same?

Yes and it is an expected behavior as torque build up is gradual over a wider rpm band.

Congrats. One question on hub caps. Where did you get those hub caps? I too do not like the wheel caps and plan to replace with hub caps. Maruti dealer in Bangalore (pratham motors) said these parts are no longer supplied by Maruti.

Thats a lame excuse Pratham gave you. They can always order it from Maruti if they dont have it in stock. Ertiga is still in production.

I got it via Bimal Maruti.

Here is the part number. Just tell them hub caps for LXI/LDI Ertiga.

Edit: i found this part number is available at https://boodmo.com/catalog/part-cap_...enter-6794406/

Great. I will place order in that case. I will place order for 5 quantity. I assume it is one hub cap per packet.
