Re: Tata Safari Storme : Test Drive and Review. More pics: pg 47

Guys, let me assure you, we are working on the review(which has already been done). Infact this is the most intense activity going on right now.
Just a little more patience.
As soon as the review is up, I will put up a notification here.
Apologies for keeping you hanging longer than intended, but as you know, we have to cover every aspect and every tiny little point.

BSM has done a comparison test of the Storme, XUV and the Duster. Duster is adjudged the winner.

They should have compared XUV and Duster. Comparing Storme and XUV (or Duster) is like comparing Apples to Oranges. They are different in architecture and usage.

They are priced the same and target the same segment of buyer's. When people considering a D segment sedan like Altis, Laura also look at the XUV why should it be different for XUV vs Storme.

A fair and well written comparison, that. Without the usual fluff those reviewers are prone to add. And spot on, in my opinion. The Storme will have to prove itself as a reliable vehicle to sell well, but owing to the lack of features and price, and most importantly it's history of niggles, it will probably not sell enough to do so. Caught in a vicious circle, it is.

This is precisely the problem - comparing the same price segments instead of capability, specification, target audience, etc ...
Few more blunder in comparisons are b/w Innova & Safari, XUV & Storme.

Prem.

@Prem, it might sound like a problem but in reality it isnt, as there are many like me who go with a price in mind and want to check everything that they can get under that price. Finally end up choosing whatever they like. So for them it makes perfect sense to compare all the features (weather SUV or not).

I would agree it would be meaning less to compare for people who want an SUV (not soft roader). For them comparison between SUV's make more sense. Hence you find these comparison reports catering to both kinds of buyers.

I agree that at a price point different buyers will have different priorities, and more than one class of vehicle (SUV vs Softie vs MPV) will have intersecting areas that check more than one box in the decision checklists.

That said, someone who want to buy a Safari "primarily" will probably not look at an Innova or even an XUV.

A second hand mint "old design" Pajero most definitely ......
