Hey Tanveer,

Something I might have missed or I'm not sure if you reviewed, the call quality through Car bluetooth.

Is the mic clear and audio clear?

Are you sure its the official pricing? Why is there a note saying "ALMOST CERTAIN"? If it is the official pricing, I personally think its a bit on the higher side considering the competition its facing.

To me also, the pricing seems to be on higher side. On this segment, brand plays a significant role. They should have undercut the Corolla.

What is the source of this pricing information. IMO the official prices would be lower than this otherwise even the diesel Elantra will be a dud.

Oops if that is the final pricing then Hyundai will have a lot of elantras lying at their factory yards. At a price segment of Jetta they want to sell elantra-hope this is not true pricing otherwise they will kill the car.

That pricing is definitely way too high, for the diesels at least. Considering it has the same 1.6 from the Verna I don't see a big premium, if any at all for the diesels.

Could you please compare Elantra diesel to Fluence 110Ps diesel?

Your opinion will be valuable as Elantra not available for test drive yet
Just heard from the Sales Manager in one of the dealerships here. Hyundai has designed the training so that the focus is more on the comparison with Altis and Cruze. Makes sense, isnt it? Together, they've always clocked more than 1000 (the least) and sometimes even 1400 per month in sales. Elantra will certainly intrude into this territory. Jetta and Laura are in a different league altogether. It will be interesting to watch if and how Hyundai unsettles these two.

re: Driven: 5th-gen Hyundai Elantra

If that's the actual pricing, its disappointingly high. For S MT , they are charging a hefty premium of 1.5L for a small capacity diesel, and one which is the same as what's available in Verna.

I would have expected
  • At least 1L less for base diesel
  • AT to come in all variants - a big lost opportunity

Approx 1.5 L diff between petrol and diesel, variant for variant, seems too high. Id be pretty surprised, and deeply disappointed, if this pricing is actually genuine.

re: Driven: 5th-gen Hyundai Elantra

These prices look unrealistic, its going into the Sonata range. Its much more (60-70%) than the Verna. Expected was around 30%.

I don't think these are true figure.

I dont think those are true prices, looks fake to me, the sunroof killed it.

I feel the top model diesel will be 17.5 max for on-road price.

re: Driven: 5th-gen Hyundai Elantra

Guys, Let the actual price come out. The picture on its own states almost certain. Just a negative marketing being done.
Lets hold our thoughts till it comes directly from Hyundai. Knowing Hyundai they not gonna bring something which will not sell at all. They will surely price around Cruze for sure not above it
