GPS shows speed? Did not know that. Thanks! Would check it out today.
It even shows co-ordinates, altitude, course and time!

There is good space, but unfortunately split across multiple compartments, which throws up challenges sometimes. e.g. I am not able to shove my DLSR D90 in any one of the storage spaces.
DSLR is something which is very huge buddy!

BTW, planning to change engine oil at 1000KMs?
No. Nothing apart from what is mentioned in the manual.

Frankly, I like the way they look and that is the reason I bought them. They are not the genuine ones.

Yes, I bought them from Mulund.

The reverse camera for 3 to 3.5 K seems to be decent price. I think I will add this to my list of essential accessories.
I bought the reverse cam for 3.5k.

Thanks for the updated pics and some useful info there Raj (digital speedo on gps etc).
Posted pics below.

Is this from previous experience with other cars or have you heard any negative feedback of the JK's on the XUV? The reason I ask is that the other owners seem to mention that the stock JK's seem to squeal less than the Bridgestones. I don't think I can pick what tyres I want when I will taking delivery, but would try and influence the folks if there is a strong reason.
Nothing. I just feel Bridgestones are better than JK. Had JK tyres in some of my previous cars and they were crappy.

Posting pics for you.

Go to the home page and press NAV. On the main screen of NAV, press the GPS symbol as shown in below pic -

The following screen appears where you get all the info -

You maybe aware that the GPS records your trip and saves it under 'GPS logs' where you are shown a chart of the speed and altitude of your trip. It shows pics of places of interest too.

Hey thanks a lot for taking the effort and sharing the snaps!

I learnt quite a few new things about the GPS Navigation from you today.
Thank you again!

Would explore the navigation system myself and see what all I am missing.

Thanks Raj! These are interesting facts, that will improve the 'snob value' when we need to show off

I thought the court has banned tints. Is it lax in mumbai/pune?

Here also it comes for 14.5K. Just now received the quote. Why this price difference in the Mahindra showrooms?

Was going to ask the same thing. Thanks.
Yes, in Mumbai, nobody is checking yet (thankfully).
Raj_5004, how much did you pay for the v-Kools?

Its a mini-fraud by the dealers. When I got my reverse-camera installed from Pune for 3200 Rs, I was quoted ~5000 for the same in Mumbai.

If someone has some time to spare, may be it can be taken up with the customer-care and XUV FB page.

All is well in Mumbai, unless you have very dark films like 5 or 20.

How? I have read of people spending 40K on vKools on this forum. Never researched them after reading about the ridiculous price. Am I missing something?

Another feature of XUV which is not mentioned in any review -

Self healing technology.

The door which refused to open is alright now. It behaves as if nothing was really wrong with it in the first place!

The windows still squeak but the noise is reducing with each passing day. I assume even that will sort itself very soon.

So the scheduled trip to A.S.S. has been cancelled. Thankfully.

V Kool even has an Economy series, but you will have to specify that you need that one. They will recommend you only the expensive ones.

Even the Economy series is damn good. The difference is heat rejection from the premium series is minor.

I m glad that the famous M&M "Self Heal" is a standard feature on the XUV too.

I dunno if this is present across manufacturers but M&M vehicles certainly have it and once you get used to it, it is actually quite cute.

By and by, have you tested the effectiveness of its chiller? How good is it in chilling a can of soda from room temparature to a chilled state?

Yes, we have had 2 long distance trips... it wont cool a bottle by itself, but it will keep a chilled bottle cool!

I am using the flexible angry bird pouches. It cools them within an hour or so. Also because they are flexible I have stuffed two pouches and chocolates etc few times on interstate drives and it serves the purpose.

Re: Xoovy - My Mahindra XUV5OO W8

Congrats Raj for your Xoovy. The pictures are awesome and i envy you for your white beast. XUV has been one of my favourites and i always wanted to own one but somehow destiny had something else for me as i had to move out of India to a country where Mahindra's presence is next to NIL. Just one query, have you faced problems with central display for tiretronics showing error message?

Angry bird pouches for keeping things cool? That's innovative!

raj_5004,
Are you able to get the SMS working on the infotainment system after pairing your phone using Bluesense?
