Re: ‘vette Dreamz - My Corvette C4 – LT4

@Harbir,

I think you should compile all the stuff here on the Lotus and start a separate thread under this forum on the Lotus. It'll sure be informative and an eye opener for a lot of aspiring racers or anyone interested in such cars.

What say?

Regards.

Sounds good. I apologize for corrupting your corvette thread

Thanks VLOCT for putting up the snaps and and the whole story. It has refreshed my memories of my US visits and my stay particularly in California esp. San Diago & Mountainview. Got to see a lot of such beauties. Its very difficult to get such beauties in India. They are very costly to be bought and also dont get any god mechanics to maintian it well. Enjoy your ownership.

Re: ‘vette Dreamz - My Corvette C4 – LT4

Just wanted to post a Sunday drive to Mt. Charleston in Vegas.

The video is using a windshield mounted GoPro Hero2 shot at 720p. So it should be decent viewing. Mixed in some of music from my playlist. Don't know how many of you will enjoy that.

Needless to say that the 'vette is so much fun with all the reserve power it has that, it can save your bun a lot of time with just powering out of trouble. However, I wouldn't recommend this car to novices. The tremendous torque is dangerous if, one is not used that kind of power at the wheel. It'll put you on the wall in a blink of an eye. Just do a search of corvette crashed on You Tube to see what I mean. It's sad and hilarious at the same time. What a car.

I hope you enjoy the video as much as I do.

Cheers.

Re: ‘vette Dreamz - My Corvette C4 – LT4

Six months since I got the car. Touchwood, it's been absolutely trouble free. I bought the car to be a daily driver. I use it 3 times a week for commuting and it's awesome as a city commuter. It darts in out of the highway and local street gaps like a salamander.

Found a father and son duo, who have been running a 'vette shop' for 35 years in Vegas. Got all the fluids, radiator hoses and the serpentine changed and the chassis lubricated for the $500, incredibly reasonable. Replaced all the oils with Amsoil, it's the only brand that the 'vette will see, as long as I own it. They were thrilled to see a '96 C4 LT4 in mint condition and I could sense their deliberate movements near the car. Very satisfying indeed to see when others respect your investment like that.

Wanted to do a minor photshoot of the car in some interesting locale around here. So took her to the Valley of Fire state park. See the photologue here of the trip. http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...ml#post3062296

Here are some shots of the car from the state park;

Re: ‘vette Dreamz - My Corvette C4 – LT4

Thumbs up to two things.

Getting a mechanic who cares for your car, and, to AMSOIL. The former is a rarity, so you probably have good karma from your past life on that. The latter, a simple truth of present life.

I've been using nothing but Amsoil too in my engines for a decade now, ever since I learnt about it.

Brings me to a pet doubt. Amsoil does not have a customer facing outlet of its own. I've been using a local Belle Tire shop which is an authorized Amsoil outlet for many years, but I sometimes wonder - blind faith aside, how can I ascertain that the oil they replace is indeed Amsoil and not anything else?

Thanks Ninad.

Being a member, I get my Amsoil delivered to me and I take it to the shop. If you want to be sure, you can become a member online and get 20% off if you purchase a minimum amount like $100 or something. It's really a no brainer.

Re: ‘vette Dreamz - My Corvette C4 – LT4

Indeed, it is high time I started getting oil shipped home.

On a similar note, have you heard of QuantumBlue custom blends? I keep hearing good things about them. You, Chevelle and a few others here have high perf machines, so perhaps you should look at them. I had a motor crazy friend here a few years ago who was a hobby tuner and he used to swear by QB.

Maybe I should post the question on the Owing in USA section.

Re: ‘vette Dreamz - My Corvette C4 – LT4

Wonderful thread Sir and fantastic narration.

Very well maintained, i must say. For a car that's done 50k miles, the interiors look almost brand new. The seats look so soft and comfy that one would sleep in them like a baby.

This particular 'Vette was my childhood fascination, thanks to the pop-up headlights. Any plans to take her to the track?

Those roads look so smooth and like straight out of a video game. I wish i could take my bike out there.

Wishing you many happy and safe miles.

Great to hear from you Aditya. I do follow your exploits on the bike when I get the chance.

This car is for pure pleasure only. No track days, no abuse. Just some fast corner carving and cruising. After the Duc, track days on 4 wheels are a little difficult to get excited about.

I still find the C4 lines very sensous compared to the later models. Simple and just beautifully proportioned.

I'm including the drive video from the Valley of Fire photologue to this thread as well. Let all the records be on the same thread.

Loved the readup, loved the car, envious of the price you got her at. Superb machine.
Congratulations
