Re: Windy, Cloudy & Finally a Storme

Nice pair of Hella's, you have got there!

I also like one of your earlier pictures of your ride in water, reminds me of a black whale.

Happy motoring!

Just got back my beast from the 15K service . I paid Rs. 1179 /- . I have a 3 yr / 50000km AMC . Brake pads , air filter , all oils changed .all is well .

I just heard that a storme Lx bought during the same time as mine has done 60k that lays to rest any doubts on reliability .

Re: Windy, Cloudy & Finally a Storme

Storm is looking menacing in the above pics.
Driven a friend's storme(4x2) for about 50kms on the NH8 from Bandra to Vasai.
1)Super ride quality.
The unevenness of the Nh8 (bandra to borivli stretch(those used to driving this strecth knows what i am talking about) was absorbed with aplomb. It surely has magic carpet ride.
2) Driver's seat gives you king's view of the road ahead.
3)Not exactly off roading but on mild soft roads the beast was at it's best.
All the other cars , xuv 500 had to be very slow and jumping all around the place. But the occupants of the storme were very much comfortable in the seats whereas i was just ripping the beast through such roads.
Fellow motorists must have been
4)Interiors feel quite upmarket and premium and much better than a XUV 500
(matter of personal preference)Looks quite European.
5)The exterior fit and finish is .
Seems very well built and feels European again.

This surely is an underrated suv by far. Deserves much better sales figures.

Why were the brake pads changed so early? Was there any noise while braking? How much did you pay for the AMC?

Seeing the ownership logs and performance of storme, I feel that it is very much reliable and niggle free which is quite in contrast with other TATA cars, and this is good news.

Looking to buy an SUV within an year and the selection criteria is Reliability, space and road presence; and the storme is my first preference till date.

Brake pads were fine but were changed as part of AMC schedule . I paid Rs.37332 for 3 yr / 50000 km AMC

Re: Windy, Cloudy & Finally a Storme

Thanks .. with such a small difference between 3/50k & 4/50k, not surprised that I mixed up the two.

Re: Windy, Cloudy & Finally a Storme

Small question- Why not take 4yr/50k over 3yr/50k? Does this amount need to be paid every year or this is a one time payment of 38k?

Depends on how much you run, my assumption is I should run around 20k / year . My beast is 8 months old now . This is a one time payment .

Could you pls share the AMC schedule if you have it ? Its so difficult to get any info on the AMC packages from the dealers here.

Also isn't balancing covered in the AMC ?

Re: Windy, Cloudy & Finally a Storme

Narayan, there is no separate schedule for the AMC. The AMC covers expenses that would be incurred during scheduled & recommended maintenance work. And if anything else requires repacement - depending on the cover you have

Condor - reason for asking was on whether the AMC would allow you to change parts that still has life in then - in this case brake pads ? I don't think brake pad replacement comes in the 15k scheduled service interval.
