They should have atleast provided ABS in the S trim.

Exactly my thoughts! That's the deal breaker for me. For someone particular about safety features, the diesel works out to be the cheapest option.

Brilliant Honda. These prices are fierce if nothing else. Now let's see if you can keep up with the demand!
Yep, Honda has priced the Amaze amazingly (pun intended ). Also, the prices of the diesel Dzire and the Amaze are very similar, which is quite incredible given that all the Amaze diesel versions have ABS.

Re: Honda Amaze launched at 4.99 Lakhs

For probably the first time in their Indian stint, Honda has got the pricing absolutely spot on. Simply brilliant packaging - superb quality, reliability, mileage & that too at killer prices. This is no doubt going to give the folks at Maruti some sleepless nights. I for one am going to follow this one closely

Re: Honda Amaze launched at 4.99 Lakhs

Excellent pricing by Honda but what are they going to do about their production limitations?

I remember GTO's mentioning that honda has a monthly capacity of only 10,000 cars!
How will they manage to keep up with the likes of mauti in terms of production?

well...well..well....amazing prices...
i just hope that they do not fall into the etios trap...toyota benchmarked the old dzire while maruti upgraded making the etios look tardy. Only time will tell.

re: Review: 1st-gen Honda Amaze (2013)

I think Diesel priced over-aggressively and petrol is priced sanely!

If only Horses could fly, and all our wishes could come true.

Diesel & AT variants have standard ABS / EBD!
S AT has it then!

Introduce a S MT (ABS) variant in Petrol, Honda and all buyers, AT/MT, PETROL/DIESEL shall be flocking to your showrooms.

Any discounts announced on DZire and Sail? What about Polo, i20? (start at 4.96 ..)

Brilliant. I hope they succeed in putting the cat amongst the Pigeons. As for 10,000pm they pan to double it with the Rajasthan plant, and I am not sure whether the 10,000pm is on a three shift basis!

What If i read it correctly even the base diesel at Rs 5.99 lacs offers ABS with EBD apart from features you normally find on Dzire VDI like all power windows, tilt steering and central locking etc! This makes Honda Amaze Diesel tremendous value for money and I see people going for swift VDI also switching to Amaze!

As far as petrol is concerned, they seem to want a bigger pie of Diesel market and not petrol, may be Honda City cannibalization was weighing on their mind.

Maruti honchos will have their pants on fire !Only if Honda had bigger production capacity!

re: Review: 1st-gen Honda Amaze (2013)

Awesome pricing from company perspective. However, the trim levels are really dissapointing with ABS and airbags only on the top variant. They are merely following Maruti instead of making a breakthrough in the segment. I would have loved to take the top but one trim (S) for the diesel variant. The difference is also a massive 1 lakh rupees between the two. Having said that, Etios, Sail and others could fall below 1000 units per month.

well done Honda. Now all we need is the snootiness to return to your showrooms, to remind us of the time Honda was king!

6.62 lacs for Automatic Transmission that to for 2nd from top model is a steal. In fact a comparison between S and VS grade does not show much to loose. The key features missing in S grade are Front Dual SRS Airbags and Heat Absorbing Front windscreen.

Well done Honda.

re: Review: 1st-gen Honda Amaze (2013)

Why is ABS available only in the VX trim for Petrol ? I have a strong feeling that anyone considering petrol Amaze wouldn't go beyond EX or S trim. Guess Honda missed a trick here for people concerned about safety.
