re: Review: 1st-gen Honda Amaze (2013)

Guys,

Heard my friend talk about Suzuki in talks with Honda to source the 1.5 engine for their cars in the future. As per him, the source is online blog(have asked him to mail me the link)

I don't think this is true but, still anyone got any information on this?

Cheers

re: Review: 1st-gen Honda Amaze (2013)

Just booked the petrol SAT, delivery time estimated to be 2 months. Accessories list has not yet arrived. The SA told me the cancellation charges of Rs 2500 would be applicable only if I cancel after the car is allotted to me, and before that no charges.

Where did you book ? They did not give you copy of form in which they fill Name , address ,Model etc ? That form is the contract document.

6X9 ovals can be accomodated , Best is that you replace plastic parcel tray with MDF board for fitting 6X9 ovals.

Can't answer other two questions.

My bad, yes they did give me the copy of the form, didn't notice the heading though. Booked it from Magnum Honda.

Yes, I had posted a link (& an image), where a Swift Diesel's engine bay cover had Honda written over it... unfortunately, it was deemed a hoax & the post was deleted by Mods.

I believe the Japs could cooperate in this regard, & the deal could spell benefit to the companies as well as Indian Diesel loving public.

I believe you are referring to the news here

Read the fine print at the bottom.

It was just an April Fool's day prank.

Test Drove the Amaze I-DTEC ,

What was good:-

1. Steering was nice to hold and it was easy to make a U-Turn.
2. Rear Space was superb ! Ride quality was decent.
3. No Turbo-Lag and good pick up.

What Could have been better :-

1. DTE Indicator
2. Climate Control
3. Better Interiors to diff. from the Brio like Dzire vs Swift.
4. Gear Shift was a bit on harder side.

Initially the car does vibrate a bit , but comparing it to a truck or Indica is taking it to far. NVH Could have been better but its not a deal breaker , heck the NVH is better than the VW 1.6TDI which is a segment higher.

re: Review: 1st-gen Honda Amaze (2013)

How is the under-thigh support on the rear seats for a person of near 6 foot height? Surprisingly I did not find any mention of this in this official review. From one of the pictures it appears to be not very good, though the overall leg space for tall people is quite good as mentioned by everyone.

The Vento although being a segment higher is the worst car to compare any cars NVH with. We have one in the family and its seriously noisy. I mean 1st Gen Indica levels of noise.

Saw a white Amaze on the road just a few mins ago, seems deliveries have already started. Couldn't see if it was petrol or diesel. Had aftermarket alloys on it. Didn't particularly like the front end, definitely prefer the Brio's contrasting front bumper.

Saw a dark brown Amaze in the evening, car looked good. Although it looks kinda tiny but definitely better looking than its competition.

Magnum Honda had given a one page form with title "Booking Contract" with all the details of the Booking person, registered owner, address etc. This document also had a number of terms and conditions, which did say about the Rs. 2500/- part. Of course I did get another receipt for the booking amount.

Well, i just got the booking and receipt and specifically checked with the sales guy about the cancellation charges and he said full amount will be refunded.

re: Review: 1st-gen Honda Amaze (2013)

To I had a looked at Amaze at Deccan Honda Pimpri. I am not planning to get a new car anytime soon. So it was a casual visit while I took my Brio for service.

We must appreciate Honda for bringing such an excellently packaged car. Especially the rear bench room and luggage space. I was not convinced about the side view and the way boot has been integrated till I saw the car. Honda has done the boot integration exercise very well.

I was there in dealership for approximately 10 minutes, but no one came forward and inquired. Seems sales guys are too busy..

That is a bit of an overstatement mate . It depends on driving style also i guess. Drive windows rolled up (also to avoid dust) and you can't tell the noise (engine noise or otherwise). Drive with shoes on and barely feel the drive train I would actually be more worried if there are jerks/lag in any gear, in a premium car, and there are none in Vento. Can it be better ? sure !
