re: Review: 1st-gen Honda Amaze (2013)

I called Dakshin Honda to enquire about the availability of Amaze.
To my surprise, they do have an S-MT i-DTEC readily available (Silver).
VX -iDTEC isnt there though. Petrol has a min 2-3 months waiting period for the S-MT.
Diesel waiting is upto 1 month.

In the car's mid the green colored indicator is for high beam or fog light?
In my car it is not working though both fog lights and high beam are working.

It's for indicating that headlights are ON. I don't have fog lights in my amaze and I'm pretty sure that light is not for hi-beam.

The indicator I was talking about was of blue color.
Figured out the problem. I had flipped the switch of high beam.

The green indicator is on as soon as any light is switched on (even parking lights). True for both my Civic and Brio.

I think one big miss from Honda is the absence of back lit illumination for the headlight leveller!

Not only do I miss illumination on the head light lever switch I miss it too on my power window switches . Even my swift dzire does not have backlit power window switches . Most irritating is the absense of speed sensitive door lock or even a manual lock unlock switch . One has to remember to lock the doors manually after one sits in the car . In my dzire vdi I cross a certain speed the door auto locks and when I remove the car keys after switching the car off the door auto unlocks .

Even I miss this very bad.
One solution is to install Autocop security system which is around Rs.3500.
Have anyone installed Autocop in your car? If so, how much does it cost?

Also the Honda security system is just an immobiliser . it does not prevent a thief from stealing the music system or the valuables inside the car unlike auto cop where if you open the door after locking the car the alarm will sound . There is no alarm sound in my amaze vxmt diesel even when I lock the doors and then open them from inside manually . This is cheap of Honda .

re: Review: 1st-gen Honda Amaze (2013)

Update from my uncle: It was a 200 km leg of a 2 lane highway journey, and when i checked the MID, it showed 26 kmpl!

This is too good to be true!

This with 50% AC usage, 3 people on board and moderate traffic. ODO is showing 400 km.

Some of these MIDs now a days are tweaked to show higher mileage. Please calculate accurate mileage by tank full to tank full method.

That's true with Amaze as well. I get a variance of 2kmpl between tankfull method and MID !!

Try changing the petrol pump and check again. I get varying figures at different gas stations. The max I saw was a difference of 1 kpl only.
