2nd gear 40kph @2500RPM
3rd gear 60kph @2500RPM
4th gear 80kph @2500RPM
5th gear 100kph @ 2500RPM

I usually change gears like
1st-2nd @ 10-20km
2nd-3rd @ 30-40km
3rd-4th @ 40-50km
4th-5th @ 60-65km.

This means, I am almost always at a lesser RPM than optimum.
Will try to adapt to the speeds you have mentioned and again find out the mileage difference.

I have recently shifted to Faridabad. Having a hard time as there is no Ford service center here now and could not find a good independent garage yet.:Frustrati

20k service done !

No issues other than door/boot locking which has become hard.

Nowadays, these service guys are seriously taking the customers for a ride.

10k service cost was Rs 1785/- and to my shocker SA gave me an estimate of Rs 8000 for 20k service.

After lot of haggling & removing unwanted stuff like injector cleaning, jumping rod greasing/ brake caliper greasing it came down to Rs 5000 and the final bill came to Rs 4407.

Still feel couple of things could have been avoided and the bill would have been less than 4k.


Here's my bill, share your views as well.

I guess you drive long distances on empty roads and hence those rpm levels. But what if you are driving in the city? If you need to drive at 40 to 50 kmph, would you do it on 2nd, 3rd or on 4th?

I got my car back today from its 10 K service and the bill was Rs 1885. I was told 3rd service would cost around 5 K.

Partly due to long distance and rest due to my other car which has a free revving CRDi with tall gear ratios.

At 40 ~ 50 kmph I would be in 3rd gear mostly.

Estimate would be without injector cleaning and wheel alignment.

My 2nd service was Rs.2064 and 3rd Rs.2819. The 3rd was actually a shade over 3K but I got a wee discount due to some summer camp scheme

20k kms service - Estimate was 8k

When did you get the 3rd service done ?

3rd service was at aroun 21K kms in May.

Figo has crossed 20k kms mark yesterday.
After 3rd service, there is some oil dripping, guess the oil plug hasn't been fitted properly. Poor workmanship on the part of Harpreet Ford.
Will get it checked this weekend.

I spoke too soon maybe. Last week I had deposited the car with them to cross-check the AC blower problem. Went to receive the car and found scratches on the left fender ! And then the SA (different one) showed me that the scratches were indicated in the inventory sheet too ! I am 110% sure the grazing was not there when I gave the car.

Unlilke say Maruti, Ford does not give a copy of the inventory sheet. Hence they have the opportunity to change it at will I guess. Anyway, a lot of arguments followed and then I finally told him to repaint door scratch which was not indicated in the inventory :D. At this, he relented and said he will get the fender painted around the scratch.

They repaired it somewhat .. a bit of dent still remains.

But overall, they were never discourteous.

I always have been getting a copy of the job card sheet that shows the jobs to be done and other information like fuel in the car, scratches, items in the car, etc. And this has been the practice for the past 6.5 years in Hyderabad.

Why don't you takee it up with Ford, Chennai?

Just wanted to know your opinion about a 185/70R14 Tyre upgrade on the Figo. My current XM1+ has done 78K km and though thread would last for another 5-8K km i am thinking of an immediate replacement. The car is doing great on the TOT map.
