Re: Super Smart Brute - The Toyota Fortuner

congrats sameer on your new buy , wishing you a lot of happy and safe miles , do agree that the front guard looks little odd , rear one is fine , probably you can try the fiber one as it would not harm the front bumper in case of a frontal crash.

The crash point certainly limits the usage of gaurds. I think ill go in for a trd sportivo kit.

I just completed a trip to the hills this summer. The journey was from lucknow to bhimtal a total of 365 kms. It took me apprx six and a half hrs to reach. Starting off at five in the morning really helped. The road was not too good or bad. What i love about this road are the three jungles that i cross on the way. The first is near lakhimpur of dudhwa, the second near pooranpur and the last one near kathgodam. Well driving the fortuner is not only safe but very comfortable. The journey has its highs and lows as road and traffic conditions change. Overall a pleasure.....

A great vehicle for the hills that proved so true this summer with the fortuner. I drove almost 400km in the two weeks that i had mostly just in the neighbourhood jungle and driveways. The roads in uttranchal are sooo good that you feel like going on and on. I have a place in bhimtal bhovali road. The nearby roads to take are bhovali ramgargh , bhimtal padampuri, and of course sattal. Some pics of my cottage and the days i spent.

A great rainy day to visit the farm....

The 6th of july right after a day i came back from my beautiful journey of the hills it started to rain cats and dogs in lucknow.
What followed was a great day at the farm.
My farm is just 35 kms from lucknow on the dewa barabanki highway. It way raining so heavily that traffic was nil. One of the best trips in the rains.

Hey whats this .....Super Smart Brute - The Toyota Fortuner-imageuploadedbyteambhp1405368010.705695.jpg
A massive tree covered the entire width of the highway which is apprx 30m. What followed was zipping in bylanes and wading waterlogged colony roads.

Re: Super Smart Brute - The Toyota Fortuner

Hi
Finally sold my beloved Fortuner.
What did I buy in return.
Any guesses.

Of course The New Fortuner.
I chose the super white AT Sigma 4 top end
Took it for a drive to Nainital. loved the automatic. In fact I have a huge tip for all those who are still pondering over the fact on which vehicle to chose or variant to go in for. The best choice is the AT Fortuner. You will take a 1000 km to get used to the mechanics. You may need a bit of a reading of the manual. But once you master the Fortuner AT gearbox and learn how to use the pedal shifters. There you have it. No looking back dear.

It is this loyalty that Toyota commands that keeps it ahead of the pack, in a lot of segments. Customers simply swear by it.

Looking forward to your review and pictures.

PS:
Did you try the Endy?

Re: Super Smart Brute - The Toyota Fortuner

Yes I did try out everything in the market. Right from the bmw to endeavour. But end of the day you have to maintain a car and if the service department is not great, there is not much you can really do about it. All these brands with high tech gizmos fitted in cars are really lacking proper engineers who can rectify issues. And believe me, on Indian roads there will be major issues. You buy an SUV to use for the tough terrain and in case there is something wrong who is going to rectify it.
Since we are used to pathetic service, thanks to years with Mahindra and royal enfield. The new companies really don't care. Point in case is Skoda. Ford service in lko is the same as Mahindra so I better stay away from them.

Re: Super Smart Brute - The Toyota Fortuner

Yes it’s an AT 4
It’s lovely to drive such a huge SUV with such ease. I don’t know about the Audi’s or BMW but this vehicle is Bullet proof and real quality. I’ve been using it in the hills since the past two months and it’s been a dream.
