Re: Mercedes Benz E250 CDI Launch Edition : The Best or Nothing

WOW! You are one lucky guy! INDEED. Driving a Sindelfingen-built Merc. I hope that you shall never sell this PARTICULAR CAR. If you do, sell it to ME! After all, only 100 such cars exist in India.

It is the REAL DEAL , in my opinion.
Cherish her.

P.S: I am a diehard classic Merc freak!

Congrats Rohin! So,finally the thread is up!

For the amount you paid for the car even i had thought this was definately 3.0l,but was quite shocked when you said it was a E250Cdi.However,its worth it.Being a CBU,that perfect silver/black combo, sunroof and those beautiful alloys! This is definately a keeper.

Is merc launching/launched a E350Cdi by now?

Also any plans of this Merc following the Candy Mercs AMG footsteps? :-)

Need a small demo of the Auto parking thingy in person.

All the best for your studies!
Thank you planet_rocker.

Absolutely, the care taken will be the same as the type 2.

You are most welcome for a spin in it anytime once am I am back in Calcutta.
I am sorry the weekend meet before I left did not end up working out.

Anyway, Come back soon in December. Should plan a meet then.
Thank you PapaBravo.

Its not at all painful, because this car was never meant to be bought for my usage. Its just that I get to use it whenever it is free.
The first 1500kms were driven by me only.

I am in for a meet anytime between December 15th to January 3rd.

Thank you so much Fintail.

Yes, I do consider myself to be quite lucky to lay my hands on the Launch Edition, there are people still willing to pay a premium to get themselves a launch edition even after 3 months of the launch of the vehicle. I will surely cherish it.

Your craziness for mercs is quite evident in the post and your tbhp id.

Thank you Avishar.

Well, the standard Avantgarde E250CDI now costs 52L.
So gone are the days when E's use to cost 40-45Lakhs.

Afaik, Mercedes is not looking forward to launching the E350CDI or the E350 Petrol in India as the demand for them is quite low. They say that its full concentration on the E200 Petrol and the E250 CDI for now.
I hope they add some more features to the Avantgarde soon.

Re: Mercedes Benz E250 CDI Launch Edition : The Best or Nothing

Very Nice thread. Wish you and your family many miles of Benz Motoring. I like everything about this car, apart from maybe I would have preferred a traditional grille with the three pointed star on the hood, because when you drive with the star leading your way, its special, very special.

One thing, Merc's are usually designed as high usage cars, the more you use them, the better they stay.

Thanks 1100D.

Yes the traditional grill is something which I do miss. But sadly they have not yet released it anywhere in the world for the facelift W212. Haha, yeah seeing the star on the hood while driving feels really good.

The car is being used daily for work since the day it came.

Congrats Rohin! The car looks absolutely fabulous, the interiors even more so. And great pics too. Have to check it out the next time I'm in the city.

Re: Mercedes Benz E250 CDI Launch Edition : The Best or Nothing

Neat write up. The car looks hot from all angles. Finally Merc has come up with a head turner after couple of years. The launch edition makes sense, especially because of CBU factor.

Enjoy your ride. Like 1100D said, Wish it had the familiar Tristar on the bonnet.

Thanks Dip27in.

I wish too.
Hoping to see a W212 facelift with that grill soon, and if I like it, I shall order for an original grill like that.

Re: Mercedes Benz E250 CDI Launch Edition : The Best or Nothing

Fantastic review!

Congratulations on owning one of the best looking model out of the three point star stable!

Right from the heading "The best or nothing" to the photo shoot, it's top class.

I never liked the E before but this new E is just so beautiful! Those headlights are probably the best in class (though looks are subjective).

Drive safe! (that is when you get to drive it!)

Thanks a lot the_skyliner.
Trust me, it really is far more superior than all its competitors. Its surely the best money can buy in that segment.

Better shots of the car coming up in December.

Re: Mercedes Benz E250 CDI Launch Edition : The Best or Nothing

Congrats on the car Rohin. Great review, and nice to see so many pictures. The launch edition was a good buy, worth the premium for the features. Those 18s look great. Hope you don't end up with too many tyre issues.

I really like those LED headlights, the design is the best right now IMO.

Lose the yellow reflectors, personally I don't like them.

How about some nice embossed plates for the car? And maybe some 10mm spacers for the rear? And also a tuning box maybe?

Yep absolutely, anytime after I am back.

The white E launch edition goes to the garage which houses the Green Accord V6 done by Viper Performance.

Thank you so much Akshay.

Fingers crossed on the tyre issue.
The amber reflectors are paste on, it can be removed any moment.

Embossed german plates really cant be done as its mandatory to get the no plates punched in this state. All the pictures were taken prior to the punching of the IND plates when the car was on temporary plates.
Spacers is a brilliant idea. H&R is the best right?
Pardon my ignorance, but what all are the advantages of putting one? Is it just the looks?

I dont have the courage to put an aftermarket tuning box on this car atleast till the warranty gets over. Your really lucky that BMW sells a Powerkit in India. Any idea if Mercedes officially sells tuning boxes or remaps for their cars in India?

As soon as I go back to Calcutta, I have to get the done the following too.
- Proper Exterior Detailing.
- Debadging the boot.
