The black and silver trim looks awesome. Also how would rate the transmission on your E vs the F10 8 speed one ?
Congratulations and wishing you thousands of happy and safe miles on this car. :-)

7G Tronic (mercedes) is not as quick, occasionally jerky. As with any 'slow' AT, you need to pay attention while overtaking. But it is fantastic in crawling stop/go traffic situations. ZF is too "eager" so stop/starts are not smooth and can get on your nerves if you happen to get stuck in a long traffic crawl.

I personally prefer 7G because lot of my commute is in slow city traffic. When the traffic improves and I want the transmission to respond quicker, I use a combination of sport mode, paddles, kick-down, etc. Or maybe I am just an old man :-)
Thank you so much Baddychat.

The differences between the 8 speed of our F10 2010 525D and the 7G of our 2013 E250CDI is exactly how Androdev has mentioned.
8 speed shifts are faster, more timely, smoother and perfect for a spirited run whereas the 7G is slower and jerkier compared to it.
But yes, for a in city use the 7G of the Mercedes is a delight to use and is much better. The paddle-shifts on the E are fun to use too.

So it ends like this for me.
Spirited highway runs, then the 8 speed of the 5.
In city usage, then the 7G of the E.

The 45-55L range is complete for us now, with the latest addition in the family being a Jaguar XF 2.2. Shall post some pictures of it and write down a review soon.
Got the 2.2 instead of the 3.0 due to it being a chauffeur driven car only.
Also need to do a detailed comparison with pictures of the E vs the 5 vs the A6 vs the XF since all are at home now.

The other launch edition of the city with the front bumper replaced to accommodate the Avantgarde/Elegance style grill with the Tri-star popping out from the hood.
Looks hot to me.

Hey Cityvic,

In my personal opinion, the car you currently own looks much better and definitely hotter! Beautiful ride you own there. Color and alloys combination is very classy..Wish you a safe drive always.

Hopefully they will be making the panoramic roof standard on that one and adding a few more features too on the top end variants.
So as said by me earlier, now there you go from another platform.

Re: Mercedes Benz E250 CDI Launch Edition : The Best or Nothing

Man, how much money do you have! Such lavish cars, which some of us can only dream to afford. I probably shouldn't have said that, but still. You have got a sedan which is ,considered by many, 10 years ahead of all the current cars..... The S-Class!
Congratulations and I do hope, that you have a stress free ownership with these Euros!
Regards,
P.S. What happened to the Audi?

Thank you so much Karan.

I don't think an ownership review will be up soon since I have 2 more threads on Gumball 3000 and the Philly Auto Show in the Assembly Line. Once those are done you can expect a thread on the S Class W222 twins.

In the meanwhile, I can post some more pictures of the S on this thread if anyone wants to see them.
