re: Hatch Back To "LUV" - My New Ertiga ZXi EDIT: Now sold!

Hi Kalinga,

You have one heck of a car detailing stuff stacked up. I can see one High pressure hand help sprayer/foamer(in red color) in your collection. I'm also looking for something similar. Could you please share from where did you get it ?

  • Goodyear brand Tyres. (Assurance Triple max)
  • Ground clearance has increased to almost 8 mm.

Done a 1000 km drive (Pune --> Goa --> Pune) immediately after the Tyre change.
Now the car has awesome stability and comfort. This is the best size for the Ertiga. I wish Maruti should give this as standard fitment.

Now I have covered almost 7000 KM after the Tyre change. Maintaining 32 psi in all 4 Tyres.
Nothing to report as such. All is well till now. KMPL is constant. I did not feel any change in KMPL after the Tyre upgrade.

Found an excellent car detailer in Pune. Which is pretty cheap and doing much more work than 3M.

This is my personal experience.
Note : I am not associate with "Aquatint" . Sharing only my personal experience.

Kalinga ,

Am also considering Aquatint , could you let us know the approx costs and the services that you availed .

I have a Ertiga too and was wondering how much they would charge . Am hoping to get some patch paint work done from them or their associates and get the car back to new condition .

The Ciaz manual specifies only 0w20 for the 1.4 VVT.
I believe 1.4 vvt engine needs synthetic oil. So I think they used “5w30” grade engine oil.
I will confirm this with the MASS in my next visit.

I got that hand sprayer from Amazon India portal. The cost was around 500 at that time.

I choose the basic package of Aquatint for my Ertiga.
That Package includes:
  • Washing with high speed/pressure vapor
  • Interior vacuuming (Only Cleaning)
  • Mild cut polish with machine.
  • Spray wax on entire body & buffing.
  • All glass area cleaning.

I have spent around Rs.1200 for this. There is a paint shop near Aquatint, you can use that shop.

From the Ciaz owners manual, with the same 1.4 VVT engine:

Great to see some updates from your end. How much did the detailing set you back by? I am planning to visit them to get my cross detailed.
PS- I just saw the post above on the cost, apologies.

Completed almost 72000+ km.
No issues till date.
Except regular servicing. Changed the front break pad in in last service.
That is around 68000 km. I did it purposely as I was preparing for the long drive to Bangalore & Coorg.

re: Hatch Back To "LUV" - My New Ertiga ZXi EDIT: Now sold!

Update : Car has now completed around 73000+ KM.

My last update was on 1st Dec-2017 and now is 1st Feb-2018.
The car has ran just 300+ km in last 2 month. There is a reason behind this low running. 😊
I will update the reason in my next post.

Another update :

I have started Sound Damping in my car. Plan to start with all the door first. Then I will cover other area like boot floor.
Not used any costly material like Dynmat. Used the Yoga Mat for this purpose.

First target the Boot door. Covered the plastic boot door pad.

re: Hatch Back To "LUV" - My New Ertiga ZXi EDIT: Now sold!

Recently we have bought a small Automatic (call AMT) car for city use. Keep the Ertiga for highway long drive only.

Hatch Back To "LUV" - My New Ertiga ZXi. EDIT: Now sold!-1.jpg

The car has fully loaded with ABS, AirBag & Corner Stability Control etc. Heavy Built. Rock solid ride on highway.

Though I bought it strictly for city use. But after driving it for last 2 month in city and short highway trip, I can say it’s a safe car on highway as well.

Ladies & Gentleman …here is my new ride. The TATA TIAGO XZA.

For last 2 month I did not touch the Ertiga. Do not know if this is the excitement of a new car or the sheer pleasure of AMT gearbox and comfortable ride. The time will tell the truth. 😊

Tiago sharing the garage with my reliable and dependable ERTIGA.

The buying process and Ownership review will be in a separate thread.

Congratulations Kalinga. Wishing you a long term ownership with XZA similar to your 'LUV'. Very informative thread you got there.
I too own a XZA and the same Berry Red. Looks great.

re: Hatch Back To "LUV" - My New Ertiga ZXi EDIT: Now sold!

Hello All,

I sold my LUV last week. Maruti has a tremendous resale value.
Car sold after almost 6 years and 82000 KM . I got little over 50% what I paid in 2013.
Car was in excellent shape. Almost scratch less condition.

It was a very reliable and comfortable car in that budget. I enjoyed each and every long highway drive in LUV.
It was my daily drive till Dec 2017. Some of the longest trip I did in LUV.

1) PUNE ---> Hampi ---> Bangalore ---> PUNE
1) PUNE ---> Bangalore ---> PUNE
2) PUNE ---> Hyderabad ---> PUNE
3) PUNE ---> Goa ---> PUNE (4 Trips)

Numerous trip to Mumbai, Shiridi, Kolhapur and around Pune.

Bye-Bye LUV. :(

Parting pictures.
