Adding a generator will downgrade the car from a pure Electric to a Hybrid. Globally electric cars enjoy a few privileges that normal cars and hybrids do not. For example, in Norway - pure electric cars pay no tax and park for free

This has been thought of. But the problem is the car will not work if it is plugged in. So there needs to be a solution from the manufacturer to develop a system which will allow the car to move under charging.

A french startup company had worked on this concept before.

Prem: I am told by this weekend they will work something out for me to buy it in chennai with the battery on lease program. Lets see how it goes.

madbullram, just curious, did you end up buyinng the e2o? or did you go for a Brio instead?
