Thanks drmohitg. The engine is the 125 bhp engine that does its job in the Scorpio. It is 15 bhp less than the XUV engine. It is a 2.5l engine and the emphasis is on lugging power rather than outright power.
My personal best time on the Xylo is 0-100 in 15.2s which i feel is good for a MUV of this size. In the city the Xylo easily 'lambs' around but one needs to be careful about the huge dimensions of the car alone.
The engine is smooth and NVH is under control.
I think Dhanush has fairly made this point clear about the seats and its difference between XUV and Xylo.
I will be posting the pics of the interiors and the other important items soon. Quote:

What I am curious about is the purchase decision. For something that's basically a once in two month decision, why buy a bigger car? Your overall FE loss and cost of upgrade means its technically cheaper to get a hired innova (if there's one u can trust) each time.
That said, please put some decals or suchlike stickers so that people can't confuse it for a cab. "Wrong cab" LOL |
Thanks phamilyman. It is not once in a month travel, all of us in the family travel together most of the time. So we have atleast a travel during the weekend that come up. Flexibility of not having to wait for a cab is what we all wanted. I am not sure if we can put a price to that. I understand your point of view but then that is a whole different discussion that we were done with.
We were contemplating the buy for so long that it kinda reminded me of the Clint Eastwood dialogue. "If you gonna buy(shoot), buy(shoot).. Dont talk.
Stickering job is a definite yes. I am looking at some options. Quote:

Its true that the breaks need more bytes and the ABS pitch in too fast even in very low speed. At times this is irritating. The car is stable even at 140 on a straight highway.
I would suggest you to upgrade the headlamp to Philips Extreme vision. Also consider a rear camera in addition to the rear sensor. The Sensor behaves weird at times if there is any dust. The sensor distance is only 120cm and the "STOP" will come at 50cm.
Thanks

Oh thats great to know. I was thinking whether it was an issue that needed to be raised with the Mahindra Service. I am guessing that it is common on all Xylos, which is kind of a relief.
I find the current bulbs adequate probably because I was driving a figo earlier.
Sensor is accurate till now. It shows stop at 10 inches which is kind of Ok for me. Quote:

Thanks Maverick. Speeds in kerala are mostly below 80kmph. So I am not finding it that difficult. Quote:

This is one super vehicle for a large group to cruise endlessly on the highways, with very less long-journey-fatigue.
Having logged nearly 30000 kms so far with zero niggles, from Bangalore to places like Mumbai, Rajasthan, Orissa and the dirt tracks of the Malabar coast, I can vouch for this great cruiser.
Wishing you a really happy ownership |
Thanks mooza. I had read through your posts and the ones on the carrier was very informative. Might be looking at purchasing it soon.
I am yet to take it out on a really long trip. I am sure the ride is fatigue free. |
