2014 Maruti WagonR VXi - Ownership Review

Its been a while since I updated this thread. Got the 4th year service done at MSM Guindy at the end of September 2018. This time I opted to get the work done on a weekday. The vehicle had covered 16465 kms at the time of service. The total cost came to Rs 3569 for spares alone. Labour ~ 1800 was covered under MCP. All fluids - coolant, transmission oil,brake fluid, engine oil and the cabin air filter was replaced. Also got the brake cleaning done, which was actually not required. I'm happy with the service done.

Only thing like all others, they also push for unwanted works like throttle body cleaning, brake cleaning etc.

Tanked up the vehicle last Sunday. Petrol retailing at 75.12 (HP).

Usage Pattern - 100 % city
Aircon usage - 100 %
Kms covered - 223
Bars before refill - 6
Litres consumed - 18.44
FE - 12.09 kmpl

The previous two fill ups gave 13.59 and 13.79 kmpl respectively. Filled up right upto the brim this time given the cooler climate and relativety lower fuel prices after a long time !

Usage Pattern - 100 % city
Aircon usage - 90 %
Kms covered - 212
Bars before refill - 6
Litres consumed - 16.22
FE - 13.07 kmpl

The vehicle has covered 171xx kms now. Nothing to report. Pretty much like fill it, shut it, forget it.

Thanks for such a diligent and exhaustive report longhorn, laud and respect your dedication and effort

My dad owns a 2016 Wagon R VXi(~23k kms), which i drive often, the sales-ownership experience and FE numbers are same. All thanks to your reports for confirming it as my dad was a bit apprehensive about the 12-13kmpl in city.

Setting aside a premature clutch wear-out rest all is fine.
Similar issues with dealership workshops, was quite surprised at the amounts they can charge if you let them loose.
Moved over to a FNG and no issues since then.

Using the WagonR as it is supposed to and like you said
