Hi Inomad
Congratulations on your new sets of stunning wheels. TDI or TSI the new Polo GT is delight to drive and more so to get inside the cabin. Its no less than feeling like a Jetta owner.
I can understand the dilemma, which you might have gone while deciding TDI ot TSI, at the end its a win-win situation.
As suggested, please take extended warranty as well as annual maintenance pack, if available.

Hey Wanderers,
I am not aware of "annual maintenance pack". Can you please throw some light on this?
Looks like some mods seem to be inevitably on the cards:
extended warranty
underbody cover
remapping
tires
Tires, since i have run with the stocks a bit, would use them for a lil longer.
Would remapping nullify the warranty in any manner? Im sure it will further enhance the GT feel, but whats the impact on efficiency and engine longevity? And how much would it cost?
Please throw some light guys!

Volkswagen do not have any free service for new cars unlike other car companies. However they offers free service + consumables on fixed price system, if bought in advance. Last year, I was offered one on Jetta.
This year while finalizing my small car (bought Grand i10 for my wife) my first choice was polo 1.5 TDI.
We did the Test drives & inquires but never asked for maintenance pack as I did assumed it to be there.
Please check with Sales at Volkswagen.
Congos on owning one of the best hatchbacks in the country. I always admired the VWs. I had a Jetta and a VW caddy TSi ( one week) during my 3 month assignment in Germany.Thats when I fell in love wit the VW cars-simple no nonsense yet elegant. What i mostly loved is the handling. I have a 2010 Swift diesel (good handling with a sweet engine) which I might replace by next year and VW Polo GT Tdi is what am considering since I need a Diesel clap:
Congratulation on buying a brilliant driver's car. The GT TSI feels at home whether it's in rush hour traffic or out on a weekend drive. The build quality and safety is top notch, the only problem with the equation, if at all, are the tight confines.

Yes, if the dealer comes to know about the remap, then it shall nullify the warranty. However, you could hide this from dealer(Petes offers unlimited number of remaps, so if you have some problem, and then reset it to stock, and then visit the dealer).

Yes, most probably it will have an impact on the efficiency.

A positive impact I must add, from what I've read/heard. Condition: If not driven like a maniac.
A bit late, but better late than never as they say. Congrats on the TSI, it's a super hatchback and doubtlessly one of the best in its segment.
Robi Mahanta's thread should provide you plenty of inspiration for tweaks and mods, although I reckon you should enjoy the car stock for a while before remapping. Do get that done though, it'll make an already fun car even greater to drive!
Great pics you've shared, and I look forward to reading more in the months and days to come. Enjoy your Polo to the fullest!

I thought/read the fuel efficiency would go down. You could check with Robi/Prithwi(Lets hear from horse's mouth):), they are running their remapped cars at least for an year.
Congratulations inomad,
Hope you have loads of fun driving this car,,
Have a question though - Did you go for some Coating/Polish/Treatment - The finish of the paint is so glossy, in the pics you attached,,

Hi,
No sir, no coating whatsoever. I think partly its because of my camera angles and ambient lighting. Also might be that you are comparing it with the pre-2014 grey of Polo. This is different shade - deeper grey. Somehow improvises well over the regular glossy 'vanilla black' (sounds so appetising!!) they had in the earlier GTs.
These custom stitched seat covers i got done from Car Cupid in Pune. Did a neat job at a neat price - INR 7500 for these basic black covers with off-white stitch

Nice review and great pictures! Black covers look great!
Where is Car Cupid located? I want to change the seat covers of my Polo. Car Cupid seem to be selling them at good price.
