Couldnt Resist posting this one. I am sad that I have to part with the Verna.
Got the team BHP imprint on the Verna and Santro. for the i20 it is on the front door side.
Need to order for the Creta!

Being a grand i10 owner for a year or so feels nice to see so many Hyundai's all in one place and they truly are a family. The newest member creta makes a grand entry and is absolutely a stunner. Other than obviously the creta which one in your opinion is your best vehicle in the Hyundai family. Cheers on your new Hyundai member. clap:

All in good time.. I am driving around to write a review.

Guys, I am sorry if it has already been discussed, could'nt find this info.

Stock Tyres that retails with Creta (all version but top) are 205/65/R16, while the top spec comes with 215/60/R17. Now, I have been comprehending the wheel upgrade to the car ( I am getting 1.6 SX). I see 225/55/R17 closer to the stock spec than 215/60/R16 ( if I take 205/65/R16 as reference). I am now confused, which set of wheels to get, 215/60/R17 or 22/55/R17?

Also, would anyone know if the suspension setup on SX(O) different from SX?

Mod 1 - Sound Amplification

Keep the OEM Head Unit Intact !! Excellent fidelity, Gorgeous display and lots of features not forgetting the rear view cam display.

1. Out goes the 4 OEM paper cone speakers and the 2 namesake tweeters

Preview: Hyundai Creta-1.jpg

2. In comes the JBL speakers and 4 channel AMP

a. Component for for front door with tweeters and crossover
b. 6 Inch round 3 way speakers for the rear doors
c. 8 Inch oval 3 way for for the boot
(I hope the model nos. are legible)

3. Got the boot Plank custom made by giving the parcel tray as template to the carpenter - Not available in the market.

4. Close up view of the speaker mounting in the back.

Preview: Hyundai Creta-3.jpg

5. Amazing Sound !!!! Fader, Bass and Treble controls on the head unit offer multiple adjustments. Money for Nothing and Hotel California - live concert.

6. No space wasted in the boot. No sub-woofers required unless you want a very deep bass. This set-up works for me

Cost - everything from my Verna - it costed me around 30K 3 years ago.

Did you go for 215/60 R17 tyres? Which ones?

215/60 R17 tyres would give you an additional 10.5 mm in sidewall height (over 225/55 R17 ones) so the ride quality would definitely be better on this one. Also, there will be a good GC gain of ~ 5 mm in this case. Hyundai themselves are offering 215/60 R17 shoes as stock on the SX(O), so there should be no problems in terms of scraping or touching anywhere {as long as the new alloys' offset is not too different from the 17" diamond cut stock alloys on the SX(O), of course}.

225/55 R17 tyres would provide additional grip (although the difference would be marginal) and perhaps a slightly heavier steering feel.

Of the two, I would personally prefer the 215/60 R17 shoes, but 225/55 R17 is also a good choice.

It's up to you to decide based on personal preferences. Whichever tyre size you choose, do ensure that the alloys' offset isn't too different.

Thanks for the info.
I wish to go for similar set up but with a shallow sub in the boot.
Where did the amp go? Under the front seat?
Any one has experience of the 5 inch unit in sx. Does it have same fidelity?
I hope abhi99 'll be able to throw some light.

Mod 2 - Tires and Alloys

1. Alloys

Decided to upgrade to 17" alloys. My friend Mr. Chander Naidu (SNLP Pitstop, Sanjaynagar) gave me around 50 designs to choose from across several brands including Lenso, GTR, MOMO, EVA, HRS etc,. These were actual pictures and not the ones from catalogs which look very different in actual.

I wanted something with Black and Silver finish to go with black cladding and overall looks. Hence chose EVO (I have the same brand on my i20 too). Specs are 17 inch; PCD 5*114.3. Mr. Chander was also very kind to show a few alloys on the vehicle before my wife and me homed in on this one.

2. Tires

Choice was either 215/55 R17 or 215/60 R17. The latter is available only in Pirelli and I was'nt too sure about the tires besides being expensive. The other option was to goto 225/50 R17 which will reduce the diameter further.

Finally I chose to go with Michelin P3 ST 215/55 R17. Read some reviews and they looked good in terms of sound levels and longevity.

Cost: I got very special prices because Mr. Chander is my friend. He is very reasonable compared to most people I enquired with.

BNM - She looks hot - The alloys look sweet - Good to see she being pampered :D

Wish you million miles of fantastic ownership !!

An opportunity to compare the 4 vehicles which are quite comparable. As vehicle types.

Guys,

Any reviews on the 1.4 diesel mill? My friend is looking forward to buy one considering it will be much cheaper than the 1.6 diesel version.

EDIT: Seems even the showroom doesn't have a 1.4 TD vehicle.

Planning to add more info on the other mods and also the AT Drive Experience tomorrow. Meanwhile a few quick answers.

Thank you. This car looks very different based on the angles it is shot from - especially the front three quarter and the rear three quarter. This picture was actually taken by my wife on her iPhone 6 Plus. Pretty lucky angle I guess. The color also plays tricks depending on the color saturation on different cameras. Even my daughter was saying the hoarding featuring the silver color looks drab.

A lot of people are doing it in Bangalore. Please ask for 3M 1080 - Glossy finish (Black). I got it done at Pit Stop Sanjaynagar. Cost ranges from 2K for some cheaper brands and goes all the way up to 10K. 3M is in between.

Thanks Sir. Yes it is 3M.
I have posted some pictures of the alloys in the same thread under Mod 2. My friend at Pit Stop told me that he would hold onto the alloys assuming somebody from the basic model wants to upgrade to 16" OEM alloys and offer it at a price definitely lower than what the dealer would. That way both the buyer and I would benefit. Most vendors will offer around 2.5K per alloy and 3K per tire for the stock alloys and tires.

I posted info on the Tires and Alloys under Mod 2. While I agree that 215/60 R17 is a good choice on paper, the brands that are available are very less - Only Pirelli. This is a strange size from Hyundai being offered on the SX(O) model.

225/55 R17 is also great to maintain the Diameter and GC but definitely will require Alloys with 8" width or more. The cost of both the alloys and the tires keep going up substantially for every additional 10mm. Also 225/50 R17 is the more popular size available.

Yes, The amp went under the front left seat. I think the 5 inch unit will also sound the same.
