Hearty congratulations, Naveen! Wish you plenty of happy miles ahead with your Korean steed, which has some deeply-buried German roots in it too.

Waiting to hear details from your D-day in your ownership review. Jump straight into Assembly Line and start working on your ownership "Bible" (that is, when your Creta lets you off from her clutches to spend any time in here!).

Ha! In my new-car excitement I had completely forgotten about this all-new and super-neat party trick!

Thanks for the reminder. Now I need to check up on the moods of the ACC unit as well!

I need to go through the manual to fix one annoying thing - every time I shut off Lazarus and come back to start him up, the Head Unit starts playing from the very first song of the USB drive all over again. It's a pain to go through the folders to find out where the last song was played from (specially if your USB card is a 16GB one loaded with over 4000 songs!).

In my Xcent, the boot can be opened similar to car door with keyfob in your pocket. There is a request sensor. So Creta should behave in similar fashion. Or did they chuck out that in Creta? It's very handy when your hands are full and you don't have to fumble to take out the key from your pocket.

I am getting folder/song continuity in my Xcent - this in the traditional HU so I am sure from a feature perspective Creta should have it in the fancy HU. Otherwise this would be a big bug which Hyundai needs to fix.

re: Preview: Hyundai Creta

That's how I think when I consider a vehicle.
I never go for a vehicle's looks. It's never going to happen that I sit on a chair next to my car and keep admiring it. It's the inside of the car where I need to spend time.
The first thing that I look for is driver comfort. The cars that are built for long drives require special attention to back support.

I got in the CRETA, spent just 1 minute in the drivers seat and wow, I was out of the car. Outright rejection. So many expectations went down the drain.

It doesn't offer you any back support, esp. the upper back. Reminds me of my old old Zen.
There being no option of a lumbar support in any trims, Creta is out of my list. Come on, my Logan had adjustable lumbar support.

In this case, try Scross. And you will be more than satisfied.

I think thats because of perception because Maruti has always been associated with average interiors, S-cross interiors appears premium now plus price has not been disclosed. Once price is announced and if its higher than expected, the same interiors will be bashed

The lower trims without the front and the back Chrome garnish looks fab ! There a faint silver paint on the front grills though.

  1. The review is more of reading the specifications from the brochure.
  2. The reviewer mentioned that it has over drive in 4th, 5th and 6th gears.- Really? Is it true?
  3. Steering is heavy and good - opposite of ACI's observations
  4. Very stable at speed of 140kmph

I loved his accent though!

Congratulations RavenAvi sir. To put it in a single word Creta in white looks "MAJESTIC".

I think you can rename it as LAZARUS - THE MAJESTIC

You have pretty much covered everything and I believe our mods will have a tougher time for providing additional information in the official review.

I was thinking the same too. This review was not at all credible and more of a spec walk through video. His comments around the heavy steering for example was contradictory to all other reviews and the feedback from all other bhp'ians so far. Based on my test drives, the steering felt very light at starting speeds and weighs up a little bit with speed.

Observed the same points as you guys have mentioned. Coming from a ford ecosport (which has got a light steering) to Creta, I can strongly say that Creta steering is lighter than the ecosport. Although it weighed up a bit during my run yesterday, I can say that it's not close to ecosport. Waiting to take it for a long drive in couple of weeks and I shall pen down my thoughts on the steering and stability.
