And those photos are interesting. But there's NOTHING that you can do to make the Brio/Amaze/Mobilio look less hideous than it currently looks. The front grille and the chrome are pathetic.
Some grill options...

Thanks. The yellow car has got the same rims as I!

Also, if you noticed, NOTHING can make the car look good. I haven't liked a single option that's available on the internet.

I don't think these people are trying to make it look 'good', they are probably just being hobbyists - being different. The car looks OK for what it is.

I personally like the rear more than the front, for example i love this angle and those rims-

I am in touch with someone in Thailand for some knowledge transfer and hoping to swap a 1.5L city engine in future. Many people have done this swap over there. It is fairly simple swap.

Would love to add the City Steering Wheel with Paddle Shifts and Voice Control Buttons to the Brio VX AT. Any source for the same ? also the rear wiper.

re: Mrs. frankmehta's Honda "CRIO™": Brio with a City Engine!

@M00M - I will check more. Fitting is not an issue though. One can also use New Jazz leather steering. I am not sure if paddle shifters can be added because there is no wiring for it on the steering.
@Frank - Some pics of 1.5 Litre L15A (Honda City Engine) on a Brio with modified Cams. May be some day?
(I would be happy with straight swap instead of any modification to the engine)

re: Mrs. frankmehta's Honda "CRIO™": Brio with a City Engine!

Hi Frank,

I honestly don't know where to start, but here goes. You are the reason i signed up on Team-bhp, (was a lurker for about 2 years), so i can have a conversation regarding the mods/updates on the Brio. Your Posts have eerily echoed with my thoughts. (Odd 2nd Gear, 90 Bhp hatch that isn't responsive enough). I always aspired for a HONDA after the city vtec 100bhp version was released in India.

Finally I picked up an 2013 S model with 29000 on the Odo for 3.9 Lakhs two months ago (A semi lateral upgrade form a Zen Estilo Vxi 2011). Thought it was a good deal (Still think it is). But after the awkward 2nd gear and low rpm lag/barely any low end torque made me question my buy. (Should i make a new thread on this regard?!)

Just to quickly summarize.

Mods done on your Brio:
1. Falken tyres (195??sections?) and Alloy wheels.
2. HUD display.
3. A Free flow Soft sound exhaust with no tail pipe extension (My kinda guy!)
4. A K&N Air Filter (Do you still consider it needless) (Alternatively have you considered a Cold Air Intake)
5. A. Morimoto FX-R 3.0 BiXenon Projectors
B. Morimoto D2S 55w 4300k High-Intensity Discharge Xenon Bulbs and Morimoto Ballasts

Hope you have the time to let me know how you feel about living with most of these. Also how the hell did you manage an indicative 20 kmpl. I managed at best a 16 on highway, but then again i drive like a bat out of hell hitting a 120-140 kmph (Bangalore to Dindigul Stretch). All its power seems at 3000-4000 rpm range

I would like to make as many subtle changes to get a performance bump on the car.

Priorities:
1. A Cold air intake and a free flow exhaust much like yours (ps: i haven't seen/heard it yet, I will when i get home on the laptop)
2. If possible wider section tyres that fit the stock oem wheel. 185/60 or 185/65(Alloys are bit out of my league).
3. Not the most important but acceptable change - Focal speakers and a four channel amp. Haven't honestly looked into it. The sound seems good enough for now.

Aesthetic wise, Nothing other than a black matt grill with Red Mugen Honda logos which hopefully someone/myself pick up from Thailand. Wish i had all black interiors instead of beige.

Cheers

Just when I thought there is NO scope for upgrades anymore, the 'WRAP' bug bit me!
The results left me speechless. Presenting CRIO in her new Gloss Metallic Black livery!

Fantastic mods Frank!
How about officially renaming the Crio by replacing the B in BRIO badge to C from the CITY? It looks like they are the same style and size as well.

Re: Mrs. Frankmehta's Honda "CRIO™": Brio with a City Engine!

I thought of that, initially, but then my wife drives this car and she's requested me not to make the change.

4k done after the Engine transplant. I have been trying a SHORT RAM air intake since the last 3-4 days, but every time I experiment with intakes, I always end up embarrassed. The engine starts bogging down every time it sees more air.
The stock air intake has been designed very well and the ECU fights back every time more air is thrown into the system. The ECU numbs everything down when it detects more air going into the system. These Lean-burn engines are real tough nuts to make major changes on.
The L-series of engines are made ONLY for economy and the ECU just doesn't like you to throw anything more at it. Which is why these engines are not favoured among tuners worldwide.

Anyway, the VBOX timings from 0-100 are in the low 10's but I expected a sub-10 timing. I guess, it's got to do with the gearing. Slightly taller gearing, and we would have a sub 10 car for sure. Maybe, JUST maybe, I will try to procure the 6 speed gearbox of the BR-V and try to mate it to this engine. It's a direct-fit, mechanically, but feasibility of this in my car is left to be seen.

You must be kidding. Is that 'WRAP' for real???

I mean it looks like a paint job. Whoever has done it, has done a fantastic job, great workmanship

The Crio looks awesome and menacing in black

The wrap looks fantastic. It definitely deserved it after all the things you've done to her.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did the full wrap cost? Would love to know.
