am planning to put ICE this week. except the tyres and alloys the car is stock still... enquiring on good dealers in chennai

speakers in the rear... i am still checking which would be the best bet

1. MDF board
2. On the rear door. I am not for this, since i know a few cars where the door has become heavy after putting speakers and hence dont stand up.
3. Box - Dont think this is possible given the odd placement of the 5th wheel.

Its not. Check out the Maruti Website.
Lx and Lxi is 1475mm whereas Vxi is 1490mm.

From Maruti website:
DIMENSIONS IN MM.
Lenght 3520
Width 1490 (VXi), 1475 (LX, LXi)
Height 1660 (without roof rail), 1690 (with roof rail)
Wheelbase 2360
Front Track 1295
Rear Track 1290
Min Ground Clearance 165

The old wagonR had width 1490 across all models.

hey bharani! nice report dude, congrats on ur Wagonr DUO! chennai city does need a more fuel effcient car! LPG is always handy!

Do let us know of the Interior comforts and all.!

When i saw the WagonR new model on the road for the first time, i was pleasantly surprised with the lovely new looks. now it has more grace, more stance. the rear is also better with nice lookign brake lights and all! and great thing is finally they have the power side mirrors in a small car!

In my view, the difference in the width between the LX(i) and VXi model could be because of the following.

a) Electrical rear view mirror would be thicker and wider than the normal mirrors found in the other two variants

b) Rubstrips that the VXI comes with.

My two cents.

With Regards,
Sumit

thanks guys...

the difference in width - checked with the salesperson at dealership who had no idea !!

unfortunately the power'd mirrors are available only in vxi and we get the lpg version only in lxi (how dumb !)

interior comfort is far better than the previous model. lets be frank though...however maruti might sell it as a 5 seater, this is suited only for 4... 5 can cramp in if situation warrants...

my requirement is only for 3 people... so this was not a swaying point for me.

on a personal opinion... the new wagonr has more character than the old one.... all said... its subjective...

Congrats on ur new car. Do keep us posted on the LPG aspect of the running. Bangalore has a 2 month waiting list for the Duo !

I've always felt the LPG/CNG is more suited to personal cars than diesel engines-irrespective of CRDI.

First thing to change was the tyres.Switched to Bridgestone Turanza and Aura Alloys after giving the stock JK's in exchange.
Did you exchange it at the dealer itself or from any other Tyre shop ?

Did you incur any loss as a result of this exchange ? Have you got back the full MRP for you JK tyres ?

Congrats on your buy.

Whats the max the lpg tank can take? I heard thers a shortage for this version (only 3 out of 100) are lpg and hence more in demand. Whats the max mileage quoted by the company?

I can think of:
* Flared wheel arches.
* Rubber strips.

BTW folks, do you think the front of the new Wagon R is better than the old one?

Also, does anyone know if the New Wagon R rear view mirrors can be fitted on the old ones (with or without the electronic gizmo)?

Yeah dont put them on teh erar door as one of my friend who have done the same says the rear door has got heavy & also that door rattles at some time as in the speakers become loose if you use the rear door frequently i.e. on trips due to the thud with which it closes.

Btw where are the Stepney pics

It appears that the VXI model with ABS and airbags ( optional ) is not available at the dealerships. Don't understand why. Initially this used to be a slow moving model and the company used to make one on order. Now, i have been informed that this model has been discontinued. If this is true.. its very sad coz this was probably an Ace up the WagonR's sleeves.

Does Changing the to Alloys and tubeless tyres NOT void the warranty??

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Sumit

I feel rear looks good on the new. But they have messed up the front (indicator on headlight????). Otherwise its a neat package. But still won't beat Santro Xing on looks.
One more thing, Maruti could definetely have improved the interiors...

Looks are kinda a personal opinion. I found the front end very BLING .
So i loved it.
About the Xing comparison i'd agree that a Santro looks better on the outside.
And the interiors have really been jazzed up in comparision to the earlier model. Really found them very practical and loved the new instrument console, the aluminium touches on the dash and the steering wheel.

@bharanidharang- Congrats on ur purchase dude and how bout a review of the LPG mode, the performance, the mileage and the whole experience with it.
