a Quick question...I have seen the old WRs. The back seat are really a lousy design and horribly uncomfortable. How is it now? any improvement?

Dude,

First of all congrats on the new car. I think the redesign looks great

But, we need a a more detailed report:

1. how much is the loss in performance?
2. Is it actually 10% more fuel efficient?
3. how much is the mileage with LPG?

And if you could be more specific, with LPG how much has your monthly fuell bill reduced?

I am planning to upgrade tyres in my wagonR...

The company recommends 155/65 R13... However, i guess the ride quality will suffer...

How does 155/70 R13 perform??? Any problems??? how good is the ride???

Please reply...

LPG Mileage figures..

these are th LPG mileage figures from a Friends Wagon R Duo..( has run 1200 kms so far )

he gets 10 - 11 Km / Kg of LPG , with intermittent use of AC in city traffic - Bangalore , mostly bumper to bumper , peak hour kind.

I kg of LPG is around 24 rupees here .. so Rs.2.40 / kilometre.

Anybody having a Vxi model here plz share their views with regard to electrically adjustable ORVMs,day/night rear view mirrors, about rear defoggers...how useful it is,AC...how effective it is for 4 passengers, Power steering...is it good enough for city traffic and weekend tours,Power Windows...how reliable it is,etc, etc. This would be of much help to me and prospective buyers of WagonR Vxi like me.

Kiran.

IMHO, a new LPG car doesn't make sense from savings point of view.
LPG gives 10-11 kmpl, and petrol gives over 17-18 (even 20+ on a highway). So, even if the LPG costs half as much, the % savings is only ~ 20%.

And, considering the fact that there aren't many LPG stations yet, a slight detour of 6 km (3+3) to fillup your tank will wipe away bulk of your savings, that you've built up over 150 kms (15 litres X 10 kmpl).

LPG kits are great for older cars that clock less than 14-15 kmpl.

wagonR Vxi

WagonR Vxi is good vehicle, I have got only +ve feedback from it. Besides, we've done good weekend trips with 4 ppl around b'lore (upto 320 kms) and it's been nothing less than satisfying.

How ever I tried doing cost analysis for Wagon R Lxi vs DUO and including the current discounts on Lxi (free insurance plus 4k ), The DUO and Petrol becose cost wise equal at around 35,000 kms.

After that the DUO takes rover at a slow rate of 1 rupee per km.

For 3 yrs, 50000 kms running, taking initial veh cost (including all current discounts) plus fuel charges only the difference is 44000/- rupees.

So I felt wagonR vxi is better choice.

I also own the Wagon VXi (But 2004 model)

Electrically adjustable ORVMs are not present in my car... However, am planning to get it fitted (if possible)... the current mirrors on my wagonR are too bad (present ones are much much better...

Day/ Night rear view mirror is a very good feature to have... It totally reduces glare from the headlamps of the vehicle coming behind... It so effective, i can clearly make out the car coming from behing, just by the shape of the headlapms in the mirror...

Rear defoggers... I havent used much... But, once or twice i did use... I found it to be really useful... Specially at night, where it mnakes a world of difference... in day time, i dont think it makes much of a difference...

AC is really good... I feel AC is one of the best in the segment... Cools really fast... However, mileage goes down to around 13kmpl with ac (which i think is the same as other cars in class)

Power steering in the old wagonR, is a delight... Some say over assisted for highway... But, since my use is mainly city, i find it a delight... However, in the new wagonR, i think it has been made a little more weighted, to make it good for highway too...

I dont have much of problems with PWs yet... The left PW is a bit slow on rolling up... Thats all the trouble it has given...

Hope that helps...

The side moulding is responsible for the few extra mm of width in Vxi

I have not heard many people getting 17-18 KMPL in city on Wagon-R. Never heard more than 12-13 KMPL.
