Re: My Video Review: 2015 Ford Figo 1.5L TDCi

Since last few days the FIGO has been doing local short distance runabouts like going to office (2 km drive), gym run (1.5 km drive) etc.
Doing a good job with its perfect dimensions which becomes a necessity finding a parking space specially around evening hours outside my gym.
At the same time gives a good adrenaline rush after the gym pump with all its redlining & 2nd gear wheel spinning
All this with maintaining aprox 14.9 km/l

The Figo doesn't seem to be pleased;

3rd Service

Update: 3rd Service;

The Figo completed 2 years & aprox 18,000kms & was time for the 3rd service.

Brake check & clean, Brake Oil replacement, Engine Oil change, Oil Filter, Air Filter & other top ups followed by a full body wash & interior vacuuming.

Also reported & rectified a squeak which was coming from the front driver side door.

Total cost was INR 5043/- (Incl. Tax)

Service was done at a new Ford outlet (Hare Krishna Ford, Nahur - Mumbai) as it was logistically closer to my office. Rating the experience as 9/10 as they did not have a bulb in stock (Rear Spoiler Brake Light)

Congrats on crossing 20K kms. That is quite early to be changing the brake pads. Do you have any symptoms of the brake pads going bad?

I changed mine during the 30K kms service and if I recall correctly it costs roughly INR 1700/- a pair (Quite cheap huh?)

Isn't that quite too soon? The one in my Ecosport lasted 50K and costed about 3.5K a pair plus tax/labour.

Ford now has this facility on its website where you can check the price of regular wear & tear parts & subsequent labor cost involved.

Here are the links

http://www.fordservicepricepromise.c...=cos_calculate

http://www.india.ford.com/surprisingly-affordable/

The brake pads should easily last more than 20k kilometers, have a good look at them before changing. Our Ecopsort tdci has done 27k kilometers & the brake pads seem like that they will easily last past the 30k km mark.

At the last service (@18k kms) the Service advisor told me to change the brake pads as they may not last upto next service & only have about 2-3k kms life left in them (dont remember the thickness in mm he mentioned).

However havent really yet observed /heard such symptoms about the wear.

But they'r cheap so will cross check the pricing again with service centre and get it changed in the coming weeks

Re: My Video Review: 2015 Ford Figo 1.5L TDCi

Update: 24k Service

So it was time for the Figo to get serviced, this time at SC Ford (Kandivali).

The service included the regular drill of Engine Oil, Oil Filter, Washing etc.

But this time the brake pads were changed as well (aprox INR 2k for the set).

Extremely happy with the way SC Ford carried out the job & a special shout out to Mr Napolean, my Service Adivsor

Service days of this figo are the best, the low spare parts and service costs are a delight .

Surprised that you have had to change your brake pads at 24k Kms(not that it would pinch one's pocket). I have completed close to 28k Kms, including 2 track days at BIC, and still have 30-40% brake pad life left, when I last checked.

I drive a minimum 10 k between services and haven't had any issue so far.(54k kms). Is there any particular reason why you are servicing every 6k kms?

Well, the car is a pocket rocket hence the brakes are always on the beating.

Also my car rarely does long highway trips & is mostly a city runabout which can be another reason.

But 24k kms is fair & im not complaining, could have been worse

The last service happened in October 2017 where i got reported that brake pads had less life hence majorly because i wanted to get the brake pads changed hence got the service done too

3+ years into ownership but still the FIGO is addictively fun, it's always keeping you busy and wanting you to go out of your comfort zone even in Mumbai Traffic
