Vehicle in front, beware a tank is on your back. When a vehicle in front sees this monster in its RVMs, you are guaranteed the "right of way"

The tank is ready to attack

re: Orange Tank to conquer the road - Mahindra TUV3OO owner's perspective

The rear of the TUV3OO is like you love it or hate it. The read shield is of medium size and limits the rearward visibility from the IRVM. To top it the spare wheel cover eats some portion of the rear windshield. While travelling straight ahead you get a decent view of the rear, however while reversing you have to be extra cautious if you are dependent on the IRVM to get a rear view. The huge ORVMs are a saving grace though and greatly enhance the story unfolding at the back of the car. Some shots of the car's back.

At this angle the TUV looks the best

The spare wheel helps break the monotonous rear

A closer look at the spare wheel and its vinyl housing

The rear wiper jutting out from the back of spare wheel. This is a must have feature for me (both my earlier cars, Indica and Innova had rear wipers). I had rejected the TUV-T6+, Ertiga-VDi, Scorpio S6, Mobilio SMT and many other lower variants only because they didn't sport a rear wash and wipe feature

The seats and floor matting

The second row seat is absolutely flat but provides decent underthigh and back support

The monogram mania

The slanted "M" Mahindra logo just under the bonnet

This is where the power comes from, the "mHawk80" engine. I don't understand why 80, because the actual power rating is 84bhp

This shows the variant of the model

And finally the dealer literally piggy-backing the parent company. What a shame, the dealer couldn't stick an equivalent chrome logo, and stuck a shady sticker

Attaching the door trim pictures below

The left rear door in open position

Orange Tank to conquer the road - Mahindra TUV3OO owner's perspective-dscn4650.jpg

The left rear door arm rest. Generous amount of padding on the arm rest makes it a comfortable place to rest your hand. Also note the bottle holder and pocket for nick-knacks

The huge silver grab handle, necessary to pull the heavy door

Heavy duty hinges provided to bear the weight of heavy doors

Orange Tank to conquer the road - Mahindra TUV3OO owner's perspective-dscn4653.jpg

The boot door has grab handle at centre, centre bottle holder, arm rests for the two passengers (unfortunately they don't get padding) and two big pockets for storing sundry items
Orange Tank to conquer the road - Mahindra TUV3OO owner's perspective-dscn4664.jpg

Closer look at the boot door arm rest

Heavy duty hinges for the boot door as well

Driver side door (no power window buttons on this as they are near the handbrake). My steel water tumbler and the Meguair micro fibre cloth are an easy fit.

A closer look at the door pockets. The texture and quality of the plastic seems quite decent.

Re: Orange Tank to conquer the road - Mahindra TUV3OO owner's perspective

Congrats Once again AutoIndian.

Your review should be posted by Mahindra on their website for prospective customers. It covers everything the good, the not so good and above everything the detailed inputs of every aspect of a car that one can ask for.

Big Thank you and happy Mile crunching.

Re: Orange Tank to conquer the road - Mahindra TUV3OO owner's perspective

Finally. I have been following you from our Ertiga discussion days.

Happy for you and wish you a niggle free ownership.

I am yet to decide on my next buy. TUV, Ertiga or the S-Cross. In this order.

Re: Orange Tank to conquer the road - Mahindra TUV3OO owner's perspective

Excellent review Autoindian. Here's wishing you a happy and a troublefree ownership with the TANK! One quick question here and maybe other TANK owners in this forum can throw some light on this. Is the TUV available in custom colors other than the stock ones offered by M&M ? I would like mine in chocolate brown ,similar to the shades offered by Ecosport & S-Cross. If this isn't possible then an olive green shade would be my second choice.

Cheers

Fantastic review!

Does the TUV have a AC filter? If yes, do insist & ensure that the ASC folks clean it at every service, even if it's not mentioned in the manual. This will contribute a lot to the effectiveness of the AC.

Many congratulations and wish you a million miles of safe and happy driving!
