re: CrossbreedŽ | Mi10's Maruti S-Cross 1.6 DDiS 320 - Remapped! Update: Sold!

Thread moved from the Assembly Line to the Initial Ownership Section. Thanks for sharing!

Brilliant review & very nicely presented. Congrats on the S-Cross 1.6! I firmly believe, if it has to be an S-Cross, it has to be the 1.6. That's what makes the car special...that's what makes the S-Cross enjoyable. With a 1.3, the S-Cross is just another big boring Maruti.

As you pass through the years of ownership, the engine will always make you smile. There'll be countless memories. That's more important to me than 2 - 3 lakhs more in the bank. I've never regretted buying the bigger engine, no matter what class of car.

Wish you thousands of kms of enjoyable motoring!

Congrats on your Crossover - The S-Cross, and this I guess is the first ownership report on the DDiS320.

A well penned report and hope you keep it updated as usual.

Wish you many happy miles ahead and a great ownership with this lovely looking machine.

Take Care and Drive Safe!

Congrats on the S-Cross 320!!

Brilliant writeup, reviews rarely get much more detailed than this.

I so love the Scross, the engine and handling package make you forget the high price when you take her out for a spin.

Have fun, and keep clocking those long miles!

Wishing you a million miles of motoring bliss.

Simply brilliant review and speaks volumes of the passion you have for your rides, feel sad about the loss of the Penguin, but on the hindsight you have landed yourself a brilliant 1.6

May she bring the smile always with her brilliant state of tune, especially on the highways.

Congrats Mi10 on your latest acquisition and mind-blowing review buddy

Honestly, I rated it 5* even before reading the entire story !!

Seriously man, I can't believe this is your first review. I can only imagine what sort of details & data you would have shared if only your 'Penguin' had an ownership review as well.

It really numbs to see your loved/adored Rapid in water and though I have never had to face such a situation, I can completely understand the emotional trauma you had to go through during that stage.

But as the song goes:

If All is in the Well, the End is in the Well

Just the right kind of upgrades and you have transformed a boring, over priced Maruti into a Superstar.

Wish you a happy motoring and drive safe.

re: CrossbreedŽ | Mi10's Maruti S-Cross 1.6 DDiS 320 - Remapped! Update: Sold!

Hearty Congratulations Mi10.

I remember congratulating you for booking the Figo. "I was told it plays CDs" was your comment and knowing what the Penguin was running (those tweeter pods by themselves could be called art), and having had a chance to see the amp that went into the old fiesta- I was rolling on the floor seeing this comment. Was really sad reading the obituary for the Rapid- didn't know what to respond either. I came to the thread wanting to ask a question about running a Fiio input to my normal Clarion HU and saw the sad posts. Was truly hurt despite having never seen the car even from a distance and was wondering how you'll bounce back from that point.

The 1.6 S-Cross is an excellent choice IMO. Congrats once again. I loved the test drive of this car and the engine had me grinning from ear to ear.

The wait for the ICE logs begin. Another SO setup i hope. Were you able to save the Fiio and the Clarion? Anyways, quoting your own words- "Life is like a sine wave". Waiting for the rise.

re: CrossbreedŽ | Mi10's Maruti S-Cross 1.6 DDiS 320 - Remapped! Update: Sold!

Congratulations and welcome to the club!

The S-Cross in 1.6 avatar is one heck of a monster. If only I could afford it when I bought my 1.3. The silly pricing strategy of Maruti has become evident now with insane discounts on the 1.6. Heck, 1.6 is now even cheaper than the 1.3 at some dealers.

Great choice of alloys there. I will change the only after a couple of years or so, as the stock alloys though a bit bland looking, are of great quality.

The way the 1.6 pulls on highways is mind blowing. It can smoke even the best of the Germans, in the turbo zone.

Wishing you a great driving experience. Cheers !

Excellent ownership review mate, once of the best i have read on TBHP i must say. There is something about this car, i always give it a second glance whenever i find one on the road. This maruti is really well built, specially the interiors.

Congrats again and drive safe !!

Awesome review! There is something special about going and picking up a car that is offbeat and not popular. You have my deep respect for bucking the trend and picking up a car simply based on the car's performance and characteristics rather than badge value. Wishing you a great ownership ahead. This thread convinced me to do an ownership review of my new steed as well .

Excellent review and rated it a well deserved 5 stars! I must confess this was one of the most enjoyable reviews I have read in Team BHP considering the focus on details with a subtle sense of humor!

re: CrossbreedŽ | Mi10's Maruti S-Cross 1.6 DDiS 320 - Remapped! Update: Sold!

Throughly enjoyable read! Congrats on the car. The reason it doesn't feel Maruti Suzuki is because it is more Fiat than Maruti Suzuki. Thanks for the effort in penning down everything. My initial review of Mazda 3 is pretty clumsy in comparison but what the heck

P.S. "If you don’t look back at your car after you park it, you’ve bought the wrong car” - This is applicable to me even while I am test driving my cars. That is how my Mazda happened even though it was not in consideration earlier.

Congratulations, Mi10!

Like many others on the forum, I can't wait for your run in period to be done and for you to get cracking at getting up to 100BHP / Liter from this engine

One question: Do you think the extra horses in the 1.6 can be put to good use in the city? Or is the 1.6 merely equivalent to the 1.3 for city runs?

re: CrossbreedŽ | Mi10's Maruti S-Cross 1.6 DDiS 320 - Remapped! Update: Sold!

Superb Review Mi10.

1.6 it is and what a beautiful way of presenting it.

Cross is one of the most understated cars in the country right now and god to see a few T Bhp brothers getting it.

Certainly the cost is very high in contrast to perception but then the owners have only good things to say about this.
This is very positive word of mouth publicity for Maruti.
