Ha ha thanks. Yes 2500-3000 RPMs on highways for me. Surprisingly, my friends think it requires a lot of patience.

Oh boy, does the car sound lovely in ghats. I saw nearly 4700 odd RPMs on the tach (2nd, 3rd gears) a few times in the ghats and the growl was lovely.

Yes NH4 has lovely tarmac and most (diesel) cars overtook me all the time.

Well that's not surprising. With the kind of speed masking ability the Punto has, these speeds feel even slower.

Enjoy the music. This is one of the areas where the 1.4 excels. Heck, even the MJD sounds brilliant for a diesel.

That's the kind of patience your friend was talking about I guess

re: Bellissa - Fiat Punto Evo 1.4 ownership review - 4 year / 50,000 km completed

Bellissa did some off-roading and maneuvering through heavy traffic recently.
What was supposed to be a small chilled out drive to Vasudev Adigas near Kolar turned out to be a nightmare all the way from Kasturi Nagar to Hoskote.

The pain increased on the way back with crazy traffic till Lumbini gardens.
Also, I got to taste some tasty off roads after taking a detour from Mulbagal on the inner roads of SH towards Chitoor. It was just a jolly drive and I only wanted to be alone after fighting all the city traffic.

A couple of pics showing the road and a bhawra (Indian black bee) which was happy to pose for the camera.

As usual I checked MID readings after reaching home and got the below readouts.
P.S - Bellissa is inching towards 12k mark and I (touch wood) am a happy Fiat owner so far.

re: Bellissa - Fiat Punto Evo 1.4 ownership review - 4 year / 50,000 km completed

I hadn't updated the thread for a long time now. The car, in the meanwhile revisited places like Ooty, Lepakshi, Kemmanagundi, Jog falls etc and is closing on to 16000 km mark.

And of late I have realized that Punto Evo is candy! And not just eye candy.

Here's a small clip.

re: Bellissa - Fiat Punto Evo 1.4 ownership review - 4 year / 50,000 km completed

Got up early and decided to spend a few hours on cleaning and detailing the car.

Started like a Spartan and crashed on the bed 3 hours later like a panting dog.

Missed TBHP Bangalore meet in the process, but there's always a next time.

re: Bellissa - Fiat Punto Evo 1.4 ownership review - 4 year / 50,000 km completed

Sorry for the 2.5 year long hiccup between posts.
I was busy enjoying the car and got very lazy to post regular updates. I would make amends on that front.

Bellissa is nearly 4 and about to touch the magical 50,000 km mark soon.

This small log is from my Homerun (solo trip) between 4th May 2019 and 18th May 2019.

Bangalore to Bokaro Steel City to Purnia to Nepal (Biratnagar, Dharan - shopping, temples) to Purnia to Bokaro Steel City to Bangalore with a trip to Ranchi in between.

Due to Cyclone Fani, I could not take the coastal route and therefore I took Bangalore - Hyderabad - Adilabad - Nagpur - Bhilai - Rourkela - Ranchi - Bokaro Steel City route while going.
Since roads were largely very good throughout, I took the same route on my way back.

Daily driving would be 850-900 km on days 1 and 2 with night halts leaving some 300-350 km for the 3rd day.
Typical starts would be 2 to 3 AM and drive till sunset (almost). Mostly, I'd check in by 5 PM to avoid traffic in late evenings.
Night drives minus traffic after a good sleep and bath are preferable to me.

Bokaro to Purnia was fun with some treacherous roads around Bhagalpur due to accidents/road work and we literally drove through fields.

I drove all the kilometers myself and family, who joined me till Nepal sojourn; had a blast sitting as passengers.

The overall trip was in excess of 5,600 km over 2 weeks and super fun.
The car performed flawlessly and despite being so heavy and me doing some good speeds over 100 with AC always on, the FE returned was over 17.5 kmpl.

I shall add pictures after resizing them in the evening.

Look what joins Bellissa in the garage today!

Alternative to the Bellissa became reality.
Life indeed came a full circle.

Bellissa is just munching highways (mostly) and there have been no complaints.
