Many claim that FE increases after first service. First service is just wash and general check up. FE might increase by small margin due to engine break in period.

230 KM? There is nothing like that buddy. I have driven 400 KM non stop to Bangalore. My grand dad used to say about stopping very 200 KM, so that engine cools down. This was ages back, for a car called Hillman Minx.

Engine won't need a break every 230 KM, the driver might need .

re: My Outback Bronze Renault Kwid RXT(O) - Now 5 years / 18,000 km up

August 2016 :
I had complained about fuel pump sound during first service. Service guys acknowledged the issue and recommended fuel pump replacement under warranty. But I never got a call from them till date. I too did not bother to call them and check as I was busy with other cars

October 2016 :
Renault India announced recall of Kwid for inspection of fuel system and carry out replacements if required. I still did not get any updates from dealer or Renault India.

December 2016 :
Finally, I get a letter from Renault India asking me to visit nearest service centre and get my car inspected. Few members on team bhp have posted that many parts were changed during the visit to dealer. I will book an appointment with the dealer soon and get my car inspected.

re: My Outback Bronze Renault Kwid RXT(O) - Now 5 years / 18,000 km up

Finally, I took the car to service centre today. I complained about following issues.

1. Fuel Pump sound : Renault Mangalore had agreed to replace the fuel pump under warranty during first service. But I had not got any update for months. Today SA said that part is in stock and would be replaced.

2. Front Brake sound : I had noticed squeaking sound from front brakes. SA said it's "common" in Kwid and would be rectified.

3. Recall notice from Renault India : SA said it's not actually a recall and just inspection of fuel system. They would replace fuel tank cap and a fuel hose clip. Those parts were not in stock and would arrive tomorrow.

4. Engine Jerks / Poor NVH : SA acknowledged the issue and said Renault has updated the ECU map. Flashing of the new software will resolve the issue.

Since few parts would arrive tomorrow and the service centre is around 40 KM away from home, I have the kept the car there for one day. I will pick up the car tomorrow. This is the first time I am away from my car during service. I will update after driving the car tomorrow.

re: My Outback Bronze Renault Kwid RXT(O) - Now 5 years / 18,000 km up

There was some delay and I got the car back after 2 days. Renault technical team had asked service guys to do some testing like logging ECU data, fuel system inspection etc.

Overall, I am very happy with the outcome. I had complained about 4 issues and all have been rectified.

1. Fuel Pump is replaced under warranty. There is no weird sound while driving now.

2. Front brakes are cleaned and the sound has disappeared.

3. Regarding recall, they have changed only fuel hose clip and software update. Fuel tank cap is also supposed to be replaced, but the part was not available.

4. Renault has released "Updated ECU Map" to rectify issues regarding poor NVH/Jerks/low pick up. Car feels way better now. Jerks are gone for good and there is significant improvement in NVH levels. Also, I have noticed that FE has improved by big margin. I have got 23.1 KMPL during 45 KM drive back home. I used to get around 19 KMPL before. I will check using tank full method to confirm.

Renault charged 373 Rs for washing. Maruti would have done it for free.

re: My Outback Bronze Renault Kwid RXT(O) - Now 5 years / 18,000 km up

Post software update, we have noticed very good gains in FE. Dad had driven to Bangalore yesterday and he has got 22 KMPL. We used to get 18-19 KMPL before.

re: My Outback Bronze Renault Kwid RXT(O) - Now 5 years / 18,000 km up

I have shifted to Mysore with Kwid and S-Cross . My daily drive of 80 KM has reduced to merely 3-4 KM now. I use Kwid more frequently for short trips. I find it effortless to drive inside city traffic and narrow roads. Also, very easy to find parking spots. I get very good FE too, say 16-17 kmpl inside Mysore city.

re: My Outback Bronze Renault Kwid RXT(O) - Now 5 years / 18,000 km up

As mentioned on the above post, I have started using Kwid daily.

Few minor problems :

1. The lid of the top glove box doesn't slot in always. I am successful, say 1/10 times. So I have decided not to open it again

2. Rattling from dashboard and instrument cluster area

Car has run only 5000 KM and overall I am satisfied with the car.

Call this a miracle

I did not notice one pothole and went over it. Post that the glove box lid is closing properly and also the dashboard rattling has disappeared

I was very sad to see this. I am sure it's done purposely by some retards. Multiple scratches all over the body

Looks like someone has a pulled a wire or pipe over the car.
Doesn't seem like a hand scribble.

Sirji, you should provide GPS coordinates for this pot hole for all those suffering from rattling problems.

But happy to hear these irritants stop via an unconventional fix.

Nikhil

Brilliant analysis!! And you are 100 percent right. The green pipe which you could see in pic is the culprit. I have told the gardener to be careful about it.

Hahahaha!! This is the only pothole which I don't want the government to fix

These can easily be fixed buddy, the scratches aren't too deep.

A mild polishing, followed by some wax should be enough to remove them.

Shashi

Hopefully. I will ask 3M guys to have a look when I take the car for UV protect treatment. It's just foam wash, interior cleaning and waxing.

re: My Outback Bronze Renault Kwid RXT(O) - Now 5 years / 18,000 km up

1 year update :

Insurance renewal :

I opted for Tata AIG zero depreciation policy through Renault dealer. I had to pay around 10K.

1 year / 10K KM service done :

The car had run only 5200 KM in 1 year. Oil, oil filter, air filter and cabin air filter were changed. Total cost was ~1800 Rs. There was no labour charge as Renault provides free service till 2 years / 20K KM. Fuel tank cap was replaced under warranty. This was part of official recall and last time they did not have this part in stock.
