For me, the weights used were the same type but stuck in different position based on the machine's suggestion. If the weight to be used in steel wheels were used in alloy wheels, it needs to be taken care of - as per my limited knowledge in this topic.

Yes, these weights were the ones which were used along with the other type as well. Lesson learnt: Dont do alignment at service centers!!!

Completed one year of ownership yesterday. Have covered ~23000 trouble free kilometers. The only issue which cropped up during this period was the check engine light issue which was resolved by changing the brake switch. The overall mileage is around 15 kmpl for both city and highway driving. Renewed the insurance for 31k with TATA AIG including zero depreciation cover.

Everything is going well and touch wood, hoping for the same experience to continue in the coming years as well!!!

The car is nearing 25k kilometers now and the going is good!!! Nothing much to update on that front.

Yesterday in Chennai, there was a car rally organized with the theme "Rally for rivers" initiated by the Isha foundation. I took part in the rally under the family category. There were 2 categories, General and family, family being anyone in the car with a kid less than 14 years.

This was my first time at a rally and I must say it was great fun. Drove around 50 kms in the city with the route being charted out across the waterways of the city and it was a pretty good experience. Finished 18th of 64 family participants . Saw another BHPian car too at the rally, a Honda Mobilio.

My windshield water spray stopped working suddenly around a week ago. Got time yesterday to take it to the service center. The problem was swiftly recognized to be a block in the pipe providing the water to the washer. Block was removed by blowing some air at high pressure. All in all, time taken was ~10 minutes.

I had pasted a couple of rally stickers on to my car and I am not struggling to remove them. The service guys suggested to go to 3M to get it removed professionally. Any ideas from folks here? It is stuck on the driver and passenger side doors. The one on the bonnet I was able to remove.

Went to 3M to get my car's interior cleaned as my SIL's daughter threw up in the car. They successfully managed to remove the rally stickers , so that concern has been put to rest.

Car is approaching 28,000 kms and its time to get it serviced as my last service was at 18,000 kms

Did the 30,000 km service on my car today with the ODO at 28700 kms. The total bill came to 7600 odd rupees. I opted out of wheel alignment and balancing and have to do it outside.

Did the service at the newly opened NEXA outlet in Chennai. While they did lack on the knowledge part (wrong gyaan about engine oil etc.), the job was very well done. They kept me posted on all additional work that came up (they found a puncture asked my permission to fix, they wanted the wipers to be changed as its life is over, though I agreed with their analysis, I opted out of it as I wanted to get the blades from outside) and were courteous to a fault. The service center was very well maintained as well, but obviously its new, so we will have to wait and watch.

Someone or the other kept roaming around me asking if I needed anything (water, tea, coffee, refreshments etc.). They also told that they are going to introduce a shuttle commute option to the nearest landmark to enable customers leave the car and go. Not sure how much this would help though, in this era of Uber and Ola.

More updates as and when I have them !!

This is in Keelkattalai. When going towards Pallavaram on the radial road, the signal after the Kamakshi Hospital, take right and it is on the left after ~500 meters.

Some updates:

• Android Auto update done. The availability of google maps on the HU is the single reason why this is worth it. Makes navigation a breeze now.
• The JK tyres are giving up. Even though there is still significant tread left, a lot of punctures have been occurring over the past couple of months on all tyres. With a long trip coming up, did not want to risk it so changed the tyres to Continental. Damage @8k per tyre. Driven only around 10kms post the change, more observations as more kms are munched
• Changed the wipers to Bosch ones as the stock ones have completed given up and became very hard.

I own S Cross 1.3 Zeta. Recently undergone 20000 Km service along with Android auto update. I agree with you regarding wonderful experience with navigation. But the most uncomfortable thing is that the phone along with cable has to be kept inside the arm rest and I'm not able to use the phone!

The phone would be unusable anyway when the android auto is running so it would not make much of a difference anyway. Only the android auto text is visible on the phone.

Actually the phone can still be used. Hit recent apps then home and you will have access to your phone, only the Android Auto apps would not work.

I did try this but for some reason, it does not seem to work on my phone, while it works on my wife's. Strange.

I guess it could depend on the phone. I think it should work for near stock android phones. Try a different launcher and see what happens on your phone.

Had an awesome trip: Chennai - Bangalore - Goa - Bangalore - Chennai over the last 7 days. The car covered over 2000 kms without any fuss whatsoever. Did not calculate the mileage specifically but it would have been around 17 - 18 kmpl. Its like having my cake and eating it as well .

The time in Goa was spend in beaches and fort in a hired activa, which was a good adventure as well.

Just before the journey, changed my tyres to Continental. Guess that helped as I just about escaped having 2 serious accidents, videos below. The learning, after seeing the videos is: Always be alert, surprises can creep up anytime.
