Did you get the Teflon coating done?
Thanks, and congrats on the booking.

I am an hardcore manual guy. I will be the last person in this world to turn to automatics. IMO, driving an automatic (unless it is a supercar) is like riding a Honda CBR1000RR with grandma on the pillion (no offense to anyone, it is just me). I agree automatics are a boon in b2b traffic, but they are not fun.

I stopped coating Teflon on new cars after joining tbhp. It is ineffective and a waste of money. Please do look up for Teflon coating in the forum. I am sure you also would not go for it.

That's a very detailed review of the celerio. You've covered everything out the car. Congrats on your new car and looking forward to your review of the kwid & the comparo. Do you have plans for a speaker upgrade, since you have specifically mentioned about the average quality of the music system?

The manual gear part, I agree with you. Though automatics make sense nowadays, in the cities; the fun factor is not as great as driving a manual transmission equipped vehicle.

.
Thank you!

I don't prefer music while driving. I listen to a very few select songs, that too at low volume. So I wont be upgrading. I mentioned it as it may be useful for prospective buyers.

@Prasanna - Superb review and eye for detail is amazing, thanks for sharing

On the infotainment/car audio system - looks like you have a very different opinion about it as compared to what @audioholic mentioned in his review of the Celerio Zxi(O) AMT - the same car as yours but AMT. To each his own

And 19Kmpl is great FE!

Thanks NPV!

I somehow feel the clarity of sound is not upto the mark in the Celerio. May be, I am used to ciaz and safari's sound quality. Safari has a simple pioneer aftermarket player and it is the best of my garage.

Hi, please do a tankful to tankful comparison to see how accurate the MID is.

Hi Damodar,
I will do it. Already 20% completed on my last full tank.

Done with 200km driving on my Renault Kwid 1.0

My verdict after comparing both, the fun-to-drive car of the two is Celerio Petrol

But the Kwid has a better top end speed.

Washed all the wheeled buddies of my garage.

Celerio had a bad day yesterday. It was parked besides my home. Some idiot had dashed his car on my parked car while reversing. The impact left a dented front bumper and wrecked panel over left front wheel.

The dent looks like it can be removed with this trick:

A hair drier or heat gun will also work.

An update after a long long time

Odo : 40,800 km

Just came from 40k km service. No issues whatsoever. I don't spend much time with this car. But I absolutely hated what Maruti A.S.S did with the plastic covers for gear knob and steering wheel. Removed as soon as I took a pic.

Hmm. Things that a large car maker has to do in days of COVID19. As much as it is about sanitizing the car, it is about PR also. MSIL is obligated to show that they are taking steps specific to pandemic & these covers and sanitization sprays work for both items. They ensure reduced risk of exposure to the virus & help the brand in PR for being proactive also. (It of course comes out of your pocket and not for free as far as I know, but no problem with that either, its for our safety too!)

Hi PrasannaDhana. I haven't found too many reviews for the Celerio on TeamBHP, and yours was one of the reviews I referred to often before finalizing on the Celerio ZXi AMT (O).

I had a question about accessories, and was wondering if I could get your opinion about the same.

The dealer is offering two options,
  1. First is this bunch of multiple small accessories, mainly which would be applicable for the car's maintenance.

  2. Second is - seat covers, floor mat and car body cover.

Which do you think is a better option?

Hi,
Congratulations on the new car

I would choose the second option.

While car vaccum cleaner is useful, I have been able to keep the cars clean without one.

Car charger is pretty necessary though. Steering grip isn't that necessary as the steering is pretty nice to hold even without the grip.

More than anything on that list, seat covers and floor mats are essential. Body cover is something I really don't use. It's pointless if the car is dusty, and we will stop using them beyond the first few months. The covers of both my Celerio and Kwid have been in the boot for a very long time now. But you may be different. If you are going to park it outside under hot sun, please buy one.

Hope that helps.
