Those BBS wheels are looking lovely. I am sure you are careful enough not to scrape them on curbs.
These are not BBS but APEX Racing wheels, they are tremendously respected in the e46 community in the US. More details on the rims here;

How is the ride quality though? Being a project car I am not expecting it to be an S-Class.
Ride Quality is EXCELLENT ! Thanks to new bushings (about 16 new bushings installed - front & rear), KW Coilovers & soft PS4 compound

So the e46 had some trouble recently where the car was stalling when the fuel level was low (under 1/4th tank). This was a common symptom of the fuel pump losing power. Hence called in for some maintenance parts from FCP Euro;

The new Fuel pump & Fuel filter were installed last week, If I had to quantify then id say the car has become atleast 5-7% more responsive. The old fuel pump had too less pumping pressure & the fuel filter had all black fuel deposits (probably this filter was never changed in the cars history) Hence this change was a major relief for the car

Here's a pic I clicked today;

Have been following this thread, and loved how the Bimmer turned out,makes me jealous it is not my own(haha).
I see that it has been a couple of months since the last update.
Anything new karan561?
Maybe the new steering that you were planning on?

Thanks Mr.501 for your appreciation towards my build

The update is that based on this suggestion received from BHPian james

Since you are gonna make the car a real good handler, id suggest properly inspecting the swivel+universal joint in the steering column [part #32306761571]. These are made of rubber and are known to slowly fail over time resulting in a sloppy steering feel. A new piece will make the steering feel tight and precise.
I have called in for a new steering coupler / swivel joint to rekindle original steering feel & performance;

^ In addition to this a few more parts are on order like spark plugs & OE MAF sensor (apparently car has been running without this).

re: My 2001 BMW 328i (E46) build thread | EDIT: New video & upgrades on page 15

In continuation of my above post, the car got fit with the above part i.e. steering coupler / swivel joint & after pre-limineary driving it for a bit i can feel a difference in the steering feel, but more on it later.

Also had called in for some more parts for the car, namely new spark plugs & Oil Filters (1 spare filter);

^ + Oil service was done (5w40 Liqui Moly)

New Clutch set, yes a new 'stock clutch'

^ The Parts fit were a new Clutch, Pressure Plate, Throwout & Pilot Bearing.

Finally about a year after the new Paint-job, got the car Detailed;

Lovely karan561,

Love your thread, tried to rate it "Excellent" but they say, I have already done it before. If there had been an option, I would have rated this thread five stars once again.

Exactly, during the days you were getting your car painted, I was getting to see an e46 with a very similar grey color making rounds in Detroit, for a second I got shocked, thought if its you who got your car for some paint job in the US .

Very curious to know about your observations on the paint job after an year. How would you rate it? I am planning for a year now. to get one of my car painted, however, not being able to due to a very high expectations that I have set for the paint job. I wish to keep the car for very long and looking out for the best possible paint job I can manage. Its a same color paint job and not looking for interior trims to be removed. Any suggestions? I am willing to take my car to a different state for the paint job.

Thanks in advance!

The paint shade, colour matching achieved by the paint shop was perfectly accurate no doubt so thanks to them for that.
The raw materials used were also great, the overall job was good irrespective of the paint booth cleanliness being not upto the mark.

After a year it still feels fresh

So the place where i got the paintjob done from is surely recommendable if its logistically viable for you.
