Re: BMW X1 (F48) xDrive 20d M-Sport : My favorite machine!

Hi.Diwali wishes to proud teambhpians.Found the solution for getting back to D. Either press and hold upshift paddle for 3 seconds or press downshift paddle once keeping the upshift paddle pressed.

Re: BMW X1 (F48) xDrive 20d M-Sport : My favorite machine!

Is the ride a lot more choppier on the M sport vs the xline? While it is a drivers delight, what are my passengers going to say? Any thoughts or experiences to share?

Has anyone considered a speaker upgrade? The xline variant has 4 speakers and sounds pathetic. How about plug and play speakers from Bavsound or focals?

There are two more below the Driver & Co-Driver seat on my X1 Expedition. Unless BMW India removed those. Do check.

They act as woofer. So 4.2 speakers.

Bavsound seems to have exact replacements for the BMW speakers. But I am not sure about the quality of workmanship WRT the replacement. Therefore, I have stayed away.

MSport has 7 speakers. Audio quality is okay. 😊

If you consider passenger comfort even a bit , x1 is not the choice. Seats are small and ride is bumpy. Has considerable body roll. You will have a broad smile holding the steering at the expense of passenger's grimace. If any of your family members have motion sickness. Look elsewhere. Taking your family on a long test drive and in different road conditions is the only way to decide. Since you will be spending a lot of money take your time to decide wisely.

Re: BMW X1 (F48) xDrive 20d M-Sport : My favorite machine!

Any preview of what the 2020 X1 BS6 will look like?

The X3 BS6 has been spotted testing which appears similar externally to the prev X3.

Any hints regarding X1?

@ El Lobo: Thanks. But there is no confirmation by BMW or Media if this model and spec will be the one launched in India. Have you seen any reports about the same?

I haven't seen any reports or news.

But I do believe, it makes sense to give X1 a face-lift and introduce BS6 compliant 2.0 diesel engine.

Re: BMW X1 (F48) xDrive 20d M-Sport : My favorite machine!

Hi, I am a new-ish member of the X1 club. Have spent around a month with my X1 20i sDrive and it’s been a fun experience so far!!

Just wanted to check on a few things with you guys:

A) On long red lights, is it ok keep the car in D mode or better to switch to P mode?

B) Sometimes when the car comes to a complete halt while driving (and its in D mode), it seems that the engine is disengaged and the car seems to enter a relaxed state. Other times, it continues to remain tensed. I understand this is something to do with automatic start-stop but can’t figure out the exact logic. Can someone please explain the logic behind this.

C) Any tips on how to use the built-in navigation system? I tried adding a few destinations but the system wasn’t able to figure it out.

D) What should be the ideal tyre pressure? I am using the stock Bridgestone tyres which currently have ~33-34 psi across all 4 wheels. The car mostly carries 2-3 adults and limited luggage.

Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on your acquisition! I am seriously considering the X1 as well.

Since you are in Mumbai and bought a petrol X1 I have to ask you how you sourced one? No dealers are willing to sell or offer a TD of the Petrol. Were you able to get hefty discount on the Petrol X1?

Thanks
