Lower mileage in January can also be attributed to low ambient temperatures (Nice snow covered roads mentioned in your previous writeup), link to an article on it https://www.cnbc.com/2014/02/14/cold...s-mileage.html
Also can you please share which FE App you are using ?

Never thought of it that way, but thanks for the update. I use "Fuelio" app for maintaining my mileage Logs for the past almost 5-6 years now.

Re: Ownership Review of my Renault Triber RXZ (Electric Blue)

The marks on the mirror look like paint from the other car. These go off easily with some WD-40.

PS: Every time I read your nano's thread I feel like buying one!

Yes, the marks on the ORVM came off after rubbing with some paint rubbing paste, but the ones on the door have left a big change in colour. Will have to get it rubbed and buffed at a service station in a few days once the lockdown is over.

Surprisingly, and unknown to me, my cousin brother was about to buy mine in Delhi last year. He got an older top model for 50K got CNG fitted and uses it for his work commutes. He loves the car now. They also have a Redi-GO at home and a WagonR/Esteem.

Nano is a gem of a car, sad that people didn't give it a chance. I loved it, I lived it and I miss it!!

Re: Ownership Review of my Renault Triber RXZ (Electric Blue)

I have made a few more videos regarding my car's ownership experience and usage on my youtube channel. With the permission of mods, would like to keep adding those links here as well, as and when I upload new videos. Uploading a few which haven't been shared here in the ownership thread before, for prospective owners and for the inquisitive bunch, sitting on the fence and watching such threads!

The under driver seat storage rack function

Taking out the battery and/or spare key from the Smart Card

Using the Rear Washer and Wiper functions

A suggestion on maximal usage of the tiny boot space of the Triber using the Seat Bags provided by Renault

Video playback queries on the Medianav Evolution infotainment system

P.S. - I live in a Hospital cum School close gated campus, so the videos (especially the one trying out the video playback function) were made in the school field and not on open roads, before anyone starts criticizing me about driving safely on the roads and to go out unnecessarily to make videos in the time of lockdown.

I haven't taken the car off campus since March, so not change in odo readings or any other updates on my ownership experience yet.

Have ordered a few accessories from AliExpress, awaiting their delivery to spice things up in my car. Hope the postal services resume fast and I receive all my orders at the earliest.

Re: Ownership Review of my Renault Triber RXZ (Electric Blue)

Was looking inside the boot of my car today, noticed quite a few things:-

Ownership Review of my Renault Triber RXZ (Electric Blue)-img_20200619_151936310_hdr.jpg
There's quite a distance between the outer sheet (above the wheel well) and inner protective beam in the car. And the wheel arches are covered with a foam type cloth, and there's more sponge between the door and the beam and here and there in those gaps on either side.

The ECU sits between the battery and the wheel arch on the left side, below the Air Filter box. Quite high up in the engine bay.

The 4 channel ABS Unit. And below that is the Steering Rod mechanism, quite close to the front footwell area.

The Engine is mounted on such rubber brackets on the Right, Back and Left sides, to reduce engine vibration levels, I'm sure.

The engine

Quite a lot of space on the sides of the engine.

The sponge and fabric liner can be seen in this pic. The yellow bit on the end of the wire is the Headlamp Leveler via a Rotary Dial inside.

Lot of heat sheild coverings on hoses cris-crossing from around the engine and going hither and thither.

Re: Ownership Review of my Renault Triber RXZ (Electric Blue)

Got my package of LED Headlights from AliExpress this morning. The car uses H7 and H1 Headlights and they were the ones I ordered for a total of Rs.1212.39/- (after much negotiation with the seller) in early June 2020, so they reached here in almost 2 months from the date of ordering.

Will update on the improvement in night driving some time after driving restrictions are lifted, or when I do a night drive in the days ahead.

Supposed to be 6500K Lumens with 50,000 hours of light time.

Re: Ownership Review of my Renault Triber RXZ (Electric Blue)

First major problem encountered in my car yesterday:-

The Rear AC Rotary Dial Switch has stopped working in positions 1 and 2, the front one is going good. It only starts the Rear AC in position 3, and then it's very loud and only my son sits there in his car seat, he'll be irritated with the noise in some time. Not that we're going for any drives these days, but need to sort it out.

I tried to access the Fuse Box inside the Cooled Lower Glove Box, but the Fuse for Rear AC is inaccessible without removing or exposing more of the Fuse Box. Should I rather focus just on the Switch, as the AC is working at Speed 3, so may not be an issue with the fuse, maybe just with the Rotary Dial Switch for the rear AC.

P.S. - The markings for the Rotary Dial Switch are illuminated when the Parking Lamps are switched on, and they're working fine. So, definitely need more Differential Diagnosis for this issue, as part of the switch seems fine (Illumination and Speed 3).

Suggestions are most welcome.

A pretty minor issue. Its not a fuse problem at all. So don't bother about it. Fuse is single. If it has conked off - the blower won't work at all. Its working at 3 and above. So no worry.

Pretty certainly the rotary switch has a problem. Best would be to simply get it replaced in warranty. Don't try to fix anything yourself. This is what warranties are for. Report to your SA in advance, check for stocks & ask them to order it if not in stock. Only visit the ASC once the switch is available at the workshop. Replacement will be less than an hour's time even at leisurely pace.

It should be the blower motor resistor.

RSA should be able to fix it in 10 mins provided they bring the part and fix it on the spot.

Re: Ownership Review of my Renault Triber RXZ (Electric Blue)

I have started a series on my YouTube channel of Dash Camera footages of my recent drives in the hills. The footage is unedited for the playback speed, so people can see that the car keeps up with the other vehicles even on the hills and even overtakes them with ease, with however much (sensible) loads you put in it. I hope it does help the fence sitters to make a wise and informed decision, and not just look at the specifications on a sheet of paper.

Drive to Rohtang Pass (no dash cam video as such, but this is how I started the series)

This is from the Dash Cam Footage of a drive to Rani Nala from Gulaba in the end of August this year

This is the Dash Cam Footage of a drive from Margaraon (Madgram - Lahaul) towards Pangi and then back to Udaipur (Lahaul)

Re: Ownership Review of my Renault Triber RXZ (Electric Blue)

Got the 2nd Free Service done today at 11+ months and 5800+ Kilometres.

Few observations:-

1. The rear AC switch stopped working in June, was actually a fused/faulty Resistor in the Rear AC unit, which was replaced free of cost.

2. There is some rust in the front suspension components on both the left and right side. Any suggestions?

Front Left

3. The Service Centre head was kind enough to help me put in after market LED Fog Lights (pics will come up in some days), they were refusing initially.

4. Got the tyre rotation done. As well as Alignment and Balancing.

5. I hit the underbody some time back, and that has left marks on the spine of the body, sadly!

6. The wheel looks ugly without the Cover on

Ownership Review of my Renault Triber RXZ (Electric Blue)-img_20201107_110434343.jpg

The total bill was Rs.3096/-. They have an Annual Maintenance Contract plan for the Triber for Rs.9K+ in Dehradun.

Re: Ownership Review of my Renault Triber RXZ (Electric Blue)

Latest addition to my Triber's kit

Ownership Review of my Renault Triber RXZ (Electric Blue)-img_20201203_190940733.jpg

Was ordered off AliExpress on 19th October 2020 for Rs.253.15

Ownership Review of my Renault Triber RXZ (Electric Blue)-img_20201203_184830830.jpg

Comes in a Black outer ring variant as well, but I ordered the one with the Chrome ring to match my RXZ variant's chrome highlights.

Ownership Review of my Renault Triber RXZ (Electric Blue)-img_20201203_190855139.jpg

Comes with a double sided 3M tape. The tape is in 2 parts, an inner circle and an outer ring. I have just used the inner circle as the portion where I stuck it on my steering has a raised part on which it is stuck.

Ownership Review of my Renault Triber RXZ (Electric Blue)-img_20201203_190948317.jpg

Works via bluetooth, so will not do anything to my MediaNav Evolution system, can only help when playing music via the Mobiles. Seems to work well for now. Let's see how long it lasts.

I so wish we could just get the Steering controls from the Magnite installed in the Triber. There is no setting for Steering Buttons in the MediaNav Evolution system settings.

Re: Engine Underbody Protection Plate for my Renault Triber RXZ (Electric Blue)

New Year seems to be the time when my Triber gets good upgrades.

Last year it was the Steering Cover and Roof Carrier, and this year it's the Under Body Engine Protection Plate. It is all metal, but covers just the front half, not the entire exposed area below the engine. Price was Rs.2,656/- upon final billing with installation.

The screw mount in the rear was exact fit. The location for screws in the front is different in 2019 and 2020-21 Triber's, or RXT and RXZ Triber's, as what was a straight fit in the 2020 Triber RXT was not a straight fit in my car. Also there is some gap in between the protection plate and actual engine bay, around 1-1.5cm.
