I had purchased the car in March 21 and it was a December 2020 model so I got a decent discount. My OTR was around 46.5~ which included 3 years of BSI plus package. I am not sure about individual components like service charge etc. Hope this helps.

Had to take our tween for an unavoidable medical appointment today. Upside was the huge glass windows through which I was admiring the 3 from various angles.

Crabby fellow was without a device, and was watching me in an exasperated manner. When I suggested that we move to the other side of the empty lobby so that I could get a better view, he quietly informed me, "Papa, you seriously need help!" .

A really minor update -

We had done a trip from Delhi to Pushkar recently - and the state of Delhi Jaipur highway was really bad - especially for a BMW sedan i would say. Would even go to the extent of saying that probably once Delhi Mumbai expressway becomes functional - this one would be decategorized to state highway - there is no expense by the government on its maintenance considering the high tolls paid on it. The car went through a couple of nasty and sharp potholes at high speeds. got the rims checked to find out 3 of them were bent very slightly - the SA mentioned that this is very normal for all BMWs in India and no need to get them changed (of-course the BMW secure doesn't cover such minor things).

Long story short - all of the rim bending was blamed on the RFTs (passing on the impact to the rim) by the SA. Have decided to change to Michelin PS4s when these near end of life. Also enquired with a Michelin Dealer - PS4s are available in this size 220 50 17R in abundance and priced reasonably @12600 /piece.

My plan as well. I'm sick of the noisy harsh Bridgestone Turanza T005 RFTs.

Regular PS4 tubeless should be sublime & ideal, unless (very long shot), Michelin brings their 4ZP RFTs to India in 225/50/17.

I believe Dr.AD had changed to Michelin ZP RFTs in his 320D. Maybe these are available.

Ganesh, I think they were 3ZP as the 4ZP is not available aftermarket as far as I know. I'll check nonetheless.

By the way, I'm afraid the BMW 3 Series community will cast me out, as I've bought a set of roof bars on my journey to buy a roof box, and eventually carry enough luggage for our family trips.

Correct. I have Michelin P3 ZP (and not the PS4 ZP). The only ZP available in aftermarket when I got mine were P3 ZPs. They are way better than the stock Bridgestone RFTs. But yes, PS4 ZPs would be the best tyres. They are the OEM tyres on M340i.

Is that a DIY job? If so, how long would it take to fix and remove as needed? Asking because you might not be carrying loads for 90% of the drives. That way you save yourself from being outcasted.

Aside, Sun roof gives a luggage view when you’re loaded.

@jkrishnakj, it is a DIY from someone who is not a DIY-er. The one-off alignment and fixing (from scratch) takes 2 hours (was alone though), but taking off and refitting is 20 minutes max. I plan to take them off and store them as-is when unused.

Sunroof becomes a moonroof, true. But unlike your amazingly spacious D3 sedan, the 330 has pitiful boot space for a family which believes Armageddon is imminent, and hence carries everything including the kitchen sink :-).

I suggest referring to them as "chassis stiffening braces", which just happen to be installed in an unconventional location. That way, you'd be safe from becoming an outcast from the 3 series community.

Lovely review of a truly great car. While I was more inclined to buying an SUV, I will be very keenly eyeing this car whenever the time comes to get a new car or to upgrade from my Polo. I personally find this shade the best of the lot for the 3 Series.

I must admit though - I am not a fan the roof bars. I know they serve a purpose, but still!

BMW's implementation of the speed warning gongs have been heavily criticized, and rightly so. Even if you turn down the volume to the lowest level, it is intrusive for sleeping passengers.

In my humble experience, it does not have any lasting effect on sustained expressway cruising, as we mostly tend to tune it out.
