I would be worried to park such a glittering car on public roads :-)

re: My 2020 BMW 330i Sport (G20) Review | EDIT: 3 years & 29,000 km update

Did a quick run to Karapuzha in Wayanad, KL last week. Beautiful roads and scenery was amazing. Distance was ~320 km door-to-door, which was dispatched in ~5 hours. Route followed was the usual BLR - Mysore - Gundlupete - Sultan Bathery.

Got a taste of the Mysore Expressway too - While the greenfield bypasses are great, the rest of the highway is definitely not of an Expressway standard. There are too many curves and signage is pretty sad too. The entrances and exits from the service road are sometimes perpendicular to the main carriageway, as if this was some village road. Expecting some ghastly accidents very very soon near those spots.

Was lucky with the Mysore Columbia Asia signal both ways - was free-flowing. Mysore Ring Road looked unkempt and looks like it will be steadily swamped by local traffic just like BLR ORR.

NH150A & NH766 between Mysore and Gundlupete is steadily deteriorating, and is a far cry from the excellent tarmac it was a few years back. However, the turnoff from Gundlupete towards KL & Sultan Bathery was lovely, and with minimal traffic.

The Reserve Forest road was full of speedbreakers, and I recommend going over them very carefully in a loaded sedan. Many of them had a depression before and after, and made the actual height taller. However, they were not jagged but smoothly rounded over.

Saw a big herd of elephants with calves as well. Some illuminated drivers were stopping nearby, but I quietly drove past before Daddy came charging out or Mommy decided a vehicle was going to attack her calf.

KL roads were crowded as usual but spotlessly clean and very well policed. Pretty sure I got snapped by a couple of fixed cameras, no texts received yet though.

Karapuzha Dam itself was pristine, and the resort (LakeRose) though small was immaculately maintained and with good food. A big thanks to Dr. AD & robimahanta for recommending it. Weather was warmer than BLR and we enjoyed the sudden balmy touch after a long winter.

Just got a call yesterday from my guy at the BMW dealership, apparently, the BMW Advanced Car Eye 3.0 is coming in next week in stock, he is quoting around 70K for it - not final pricing.

Hi Shubz, apologies for the garbled post. I haven't pursued it as I already have a couple of ₹5K DDPAIs and very happy with them. However, I was offered it for 54K (installed cost) if I was interested.

In my opinion, while it is a BMW OEM product and installed by official dealers etc., the basic hardware is still ~5-10K worth with the BMW badge commanding the rest of the premium.

Deutsche Motoren BLR. But mind you, the installation charges might be higher for a X3.

I believe there is pretty good demand for it. Stocks are selling out quickly.

Shubz, I stand corrected. ~63-65K is the sudden 'new' price . My pal (who fitted one in his G20 330i) managed to get one of the earliest invoiced ones at ~56K.

These dealer-level imports are not strictly controlled by BMW India, and hence dealers have some leeway in charging a premium for fast-moving items.
